I have a love/hate relationship with this Vikings signing of Bernard Berrian. I think he's a good player, had a good year last year (despite a few no-show games, especially when he'd face a good corner, i.e. whenever the Bears played the Packers), but I don't know how much he can contribute to a very young WR-corps. I can't wait to see more of Sidney Rice, and I think while there's obvious room for improvement, Bobby Wade was a reliable option. Among the huge list of Vikings receivers, there's that no-talent ass-clown who has yet to arrive, Troy Williamson...here's hoping for a breakout year! (hah!)

That jackass Troy Williamson is a Jaguar now. My condolences to any Jag fans out there. I'm happy with the Berrian signing. Even if he doesn't play as well as last year, he's still a giant fucking upgrade over Williamson. It's rare when a Minnesota team actually signs a decent free agent.

Nice to see the Jets overpaying for aging offensive linemen. That should really help Pennington considering his arm is like spaghetti now and he can only throw a ball 2 yards.

The jets need it, look @ thier o-line last year, it collapse so often it wasnt even funny and now that they have a vet up there it will do them good but i do agree that they need to kick pennington to the curb but i eventually think clemens will take over @ QB, but he just needs more time

Damn I didn't do my research on these rookies -- I have no idea who's who (except for Chris Long, but that's because of school). Judging by some of these mock draft boards, it's going to be a defense-heavy first round...

Looking at the NFL's FA list (http://www.nfl.com/freeagency), I'm interested to see where the following players end up:

QB-
Daunte Culpepper - Watch him end up going to Miami, again.
Quinn Gray - I think the Jaguars should resign him...he played well while Garrard was injured.
Trent Green - I hope a team signs him. If nothing else, he's a veteran that can help a rookie or second year QB.

RB-
Jesse Chatman - I was impressed with how well he played last season, if nothing else he's a solid backup.
Tony Richardson - I hope the Vikings resign him...if not, it'd be shweet if maybe they go after Lorenzo Neal.
Derrick Ward - is he really an FA? Given Ahmad Bradshaw's stellar play in the final few games last season, I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants don't resign him. I think he's going to get an inflated contract, unless team's realize that the Giant's offensive line deserves a lot more credit than they receive for making Jacobs, Ward, and Bradshaw look so damn good (not to take anything away from them, but come on...the Giants rush offense was sick last year, and it's because of them)
Julius Jones - I just want to see him gone so I can see Marion Barber *FINALLY* start some games.

WR/TE-
D.J. Hackett - Seahawks should resign him -- he's got great chemistry with Hasselbeck, should be interesting if they don't.
Bryant Johnson - the biggest name on the boards right now. Bills apparently in the shopping for him? (as metnioned earlier)
Craphonso Thorpe - I'll never forget that Manning had to throw to a guy who has "Crap" in his name.
Nate Washington - Decent slot receiver that looked good at times last year, I think he'd be a nice fit in a pass-happy offense
L.J. Smith - had some decent years despite being marred by injuries. The Eagles are definately not going to give him the money he wants.


OL-
Reuben Brown - false start, anyone?
Sean Locklear - I'm actually surprised to see "UFA" next to his name...I would think the Seahawks would try to resign him, seeing as how huge of a hit losing Hutch was.
John Welbourn - I think he's got a few years left in him, and he's a solid offensive linesman when healthy


DT-
Rod Coleman - Many, many teams out there could use an experienced defensive tackle.
Larry Tripplett - Surprised to see him go, he was a good fit in Buffalo.
Jevon Kearse - The Eagles know one thing better than anyone in the league: Defensive Ends. When they cut you, or let you go, it's either because: 1) you're done or 2) you want more money than they think you're worth (there's a possible exception in the case of Derrick Burgess). I'm guessing, as they always do, the Redskins will hop in and give Kearse a 7-year $80-million deal with 20 guaranteed.


LB-
The biggest name here was Briggs. Having resigned with the Bears, the next in line is Seau, to see if he'll retire or get signed by a team (and what role he'd play).


CB-
The biggest name here was Asante Samuel, followed by Marcus Trufant -- who was franchised by Seattle. I'd think that a team with a young secondary could use the experience of an Aaron Glenn or Ty Law, the latter of which has no gas left in his tank to cover an NFL-receiver. Long, long list of decent players at CB/S that would make good backups, but not many potential starting safeties. You could make the case for CB for Eric Green (Cardinals) or Dominique Foxworth (Broncos) or Brian Kelly (Buccaneers)
