i've never been a fan of ripping cds onto my consoles for custom soundtracks, but it's definitely going to happen for this release. some of it is perfect for that :DOriginally Posted by Norelco
The tracks I downloaded were 1- 9. Some of them reminded me of Coil a little bit, some of Chris and Cosey, and some of Stars of the Lid. This is what I'd expect an old Test Department or Clock DVA or Current 93 EP B side to sound like. ( Which isn't bad ) .
Any one who likes the above NIN tracks would do wise to check out Stars of the Lid , Pan American , Labradford, Windsor for the Derby , and pretty much anything on Kranky records.

not a fan of NIN, but thought you guys liked them, plus I wasn't sure if I should start a new topic
enjoy~
Oh shit good find.
I'm listening to it now, definitely liking it. It's got a really nice sound.
Good dance track, but it sounds like a W_T leftover.
ordered the $10 2-disc version cuz i'm old school like that, dling apple lossless now for teh pod.
for anyone who was thinking about getting the same version, shipping on it was 6.99 - no big. i'm more than happy to support him for more than 5 bucks in light of the new tunes and the cool dist method.
edit: yeah, i didn't even know the NiN album was out - thanks for the necro lmao...
LOL, Trent just dropped ANOTHER album...but this time it's free.
Called "The Slip"

I got mine immediately.Originally Posted by shihei
This definitely has a b-sides feel. 'Ghosts' sounded much more complete to me, but I really can't complain about a free album.
Favourite tracks:
Discipline
Corona Radiata
The Four of Us Are Dying
I like Discipline, Head Down, and Lights in the Sky.
Can someone explain to me the kind of mindset you need for these songs to.....'work'?
Picked up Ghost lately, and I've not really heard anything of this type of music before, so it's kind of hard to get in to as I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be listening for, even though I've already heard the whole album twice-over.
(my first NIN album, and it seems to me that it's more ambience-style music you play in the background and enjoy it that way rather than full-blown audio with the current pop-hit)
if ghosts is your first NiN experience, then yeah... go listen to some of the earlier stuff.
'head like a hole' really doesn't ring a bell? o.O
Your main problem is you started your NiN experience with Ghosts. I highly recommend going out and buying or downloading "The Downward Spiral" and "The Fragile" CD the latter being the one I recommend the most.Originally Posted by Kaisha
