I might have missed it...but has anyone mentioned it's just a dog? The only reason it bothers people is that dogs=pets. Would it be different if someone chucked a pig off a cliff? Or a Cow? (Damn I want to see a cow catapult) Idk, I'm not saying I would ever encourage or support the behavior, but I don't see why it's such a travesty to some people. I mean have you ever seen how they kill pigs for pork? Rod Gun to the skull then they're skinned, sounds pretty nice to me.

Idk, much worse things are done to other animals AND PEOPLE and then ppl flip out over a dog. Shoot, people love veal but people don't mind the kiilling of baby calves for it. If meat is murder then murder tastes damn good. >_>

I'd be offended and sickened at any animal being tossed really. It has little to do with food versus pet because I think most people already don't like how animals are killed for food. I'm sure we'd all like animals to be treated/killed fairly and painlessly. Dogs are already eaten in other countries and that idea alone doesn't bother me, just how they treat and kill the dogs.

I guess it's more of a "Middle Age" time period or even further back when a King would run his men through countries, killing them all in the name of his people and being considered a King amongst men or something.

The syntax is ambiguous enough it's valid either way. More importantly, considering the nature of kingdoms and empires during most feudal periods (Middle Ages, Sengoku eaa, something similar probably happened in India and South America too but I'm not sure if it has a name now), it's reasonable to consider warfare and the resulting mass deaths both a cause and effect of a great many kingships. The more recent examples were only defamed and executed afterwards, which doesn't change the fact that they were "kings" for a little while.

It's not that it's a dog, really, for me. It's the fucking cruel and totally apathetic attitude that soldier had to throw him over the cliff. It's not funny. It wouldn't be funny with a chipmunk or a horse or a cow or any fucking animal. The smile that went across that guy's face was just void of any compassion for that puppy. The dog didn't attack him. He just fucking threw it off of a cliff. There shouldn't be debate over whether or not this is OK.

And for the food argument... give me a break. That guy didn't eat that fucking dog. See above. I'm not going to restate my whole point because you compare this event to slaughterhouses, which basically do the hunting and killing for us so we can eat and gain protein.
