We'd be hypocrites if we threw our animals off cliffs for them to die slowly before we eat them. Animals for consumption (Except lobsters) are mostly swift quick kills so the animal doesn't have to suffer.

I was just saying earlier (don't want to add to the huge quote train) that while Beckwin is right about it, goats typically are livestock and dogs are companions, its not always the case.

That being said, my point was that both were still young. And yeah, sure, the lion's got fed and the goat died for a cause, whatever. People can't feel sorry for both? I wouldn't have a problem at all if it was embattled soldiers that killed a dog to eat because they had nothing else. It would still be "awwww" but not "awww fuck those sick fuckers"

Any animal I eat has to be slaughtered without a slow torturous death. I can verify that with this symbol on my meat products!

I don't see the video as that bad. Granted the dog was obviously 'innocent' and such, I felt worse for seeing mice and rats and guinea pigs getting killed than that dog. Painful death? Maybe from being held by it's skin, but it likely died on impact so it wouldn't feel shit, and if it did, it died quickly after.

Was the soldier out of line? Yes, but atleast he didn't waste ammo on it.

In America, our meat processing plants take special care to ensure that our livestock suffers for the absolute longest time possible. Rather than use a nail gun or other means of a swift death, we just skip the whole process and send them straight in to be skinned alive and then mechanically separated.
