God damnit. Shitty last game to go out on but I'm sure that won't be what people see when they think of Brett Favre in the years to come.

I posted it in the NFL Free Agent thread, D: But I guess it's good enough news to get it's own thread.Originally Posted by Dezzimal
I was honestly surprised. He had a great season, after everyone on the planet was saying he should call it quits a few years ago. I'm a Giants fan and as much as I enjoyed the Giants winning that game and getting to the super bowl, it'll be sad that the last pass Favre threw was an interception that ended up costing them the game. Not that it diminishes his lifelong accomplishments, but it's something people will remember and it's unfortunate.
I just saw this.![]()
A sadsad day, a great man to leave such a great team. ;-;
Knew the day was coming up, but still sad to hear. Football and the world in general need more people like Favre.
Now bring me back to the days of the Acme Packers.
Yeah thats how I feel also. Everyone knew this day was coming soon, yet you still are somehow in shock that it actually came. I mean just last week he was publicly asking for the Pack to try to sign Randy Moss, I think had they gotten him and had a receiver like that to throw to it would have at least enticed him to come back for another season.
I personally thought he should have called it quits a few years ago when they went through that Sherman to McCarthy coaching transition, but after last years run I was excited about this years season. It still sucks, but I think when Moss resigned with the Pats yesterday it pretty much sealed his fate for this upcoming season.
live an hour from green bay and this is the first place i hear this.
shitty.
I am a 49ers fan, but Favre was the reason I enjoyed watching the Packers.
I don't know if I could even wrap my head around my favorite player playing with my least favorite player. When Moss played for the vikings I really couldn't stand the guy.
i remember when the vikings beat the packers in the playoffs a few seasons ago and when moss scored a TD he faked mooning the crowd lol, I would of never guessed he would of come to the Pack after doing that cause if memory serves me correct favre had harsh words for him
Fans don't care when they get a good player. Look what the Cowboys did with T.O. coming to Dallas after he did the whole dancing on the star thing. It's about winning. Fans may not like it, but as long as their team wins, it's all that matters.Originally Posted by Lordcaim
As a Vikings fan, I had a definite love/hate with Brett Favre. More love though, it's sad to see him go.![]()
It was really cool to see Warren Sapp and Brett Favre go at it (in a good way, with sportsmanship) when they were at their best.Originally Posted by Kurp

It's funny, he's going to be a first-ballot HoF (and deservedly so), but his first and last NFL passes were interceptions :D
Sad day in sports.
Thank you Favre for everything; you will always be among my favorite athletes in history
This is the kinda shit that will make a grown man cry. So many good memories with ol' Farve, too bad he couldn't go out with a bang.
And hell yes I'm still waiting until the season starts to see if he'll change his mind![]()
