And hell yes I'm still waiting until the season starts to see if he'll change his mind
Wow. First post of yours I actually didn't want to forget after I read it, because I agree. D:

Also, Madden still has Brady and Romo. Don't worry. All is not lost.

I'm a life-long packer fan, and I'm oddly at peace with this.

I'm genuinely eager to see how the team does with Rodgers at the helm - I think in some way I'm happy that he picked now to hang it up.

    Same.

It's funny, he's going to be a first-ballot HoF (and deservedly so), but his first and last NFL passes were interceptions :D

His first pass was deflected and caught by none other than himself.

Oh yea. Damn...can we change history? It would be nicer my way.

So his first what was an INT? (i know it resulted in a td -- his first TD?)

His first ever pass attempt (as a Falcon) was an INT returned for a TD.
His first ever completed pass (as a Packer) was the pass deflected back to himself.

Edit: the deflection was as a packer

That first pass INT for TD was bullshit anyway, Falcons receivers are butterfingers.

doesn't matter, I win. First pass attempt = interception. Last pass attempt = interception. In between? Nougatty hall of fameness.

Favre's on ESPN right now talking about retiring. You can tell he's emotionally beat up about it.

Gonna be really weird not seeing Favre on the field next season. Sucks to see him this beat up about it.

I haven't heard a player this emotional about ANYTHING, let alone retiring, in a long long time. And I'm listening on the radio at work, I'm sure he looks as bad as he sounds.

His eyes are a bit red from crying and you can tell he's tore up about this decision, but he does feel it's the right thing. It's a great thing to watch though. It's nice to see a player put his emotions out there on the line for his fans.

I think he's beat up about it because he feels he is letting the fans down, but that's what has been so great about Brett Favre.

lol, reminds me of the time I cryed when I broke my collar bone and had to tell the team I was out for the season. I felt like I was letting the team down being hurt.

    Shit was serious.

I'm just glad he got to bow out on top and not end up like Patrick Ewing, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, and the like... At least he got to leave on his own terms.
