how does this laptop look for general use and gaming?

2 years ago I paid $700 + ship for a Pentium M 1.7, 1gb of ram, 60gb hdd and a geforcefx 5200 laptop. And it was used!Thats a pretty good price.

Get the 8600gt the 8400 is barely better than the integrated stuff, if you want a gaming laptop you need to make sure you get a strong video card for it.

I will recommend to upgrade your graphic card to 256MB if you ever considering play wow. Even thought wow seem like it doesn't use more memory or more cpu/gpu intense than FFXI, however it does

I'm looking at a similar computer to wintersqualls but I'm really not sure about upgrading it to the 256 mb(its the same graphics card as squal). Is the 128 really that bad for wow? I'm sure it could run it with good fps at lowest graphics. I don't really care about bumping them up that much but is the 256 really that good of a buy for the cost?

there are alots of wow expansion area that will just killing your life and your graphic card. just like the alterac valley, shattrah city, netherwing edge... these 3 are the major lagging area >.>

and for some 10 or 25man raid situation that require you to turn on full graphic effect to running out of the aoe and stuff too

I have a Vostro 1500, and it's not the most portable thing in the world. You might like the Vostro 1400 more.

I guess they aren't offering the T8100/T8300 yet, which I would have gone for over the older C2D line. But since the T7250 is socket P (a guess) you'll be able to upgrade later if you like.
