    Task Manager---> Set Priority

    I've noticed that Task Manager sets my FFXI as low. Were I to set it to high, would there actually be any better results for gameplay? I've realized by now people say FFXI is strongly CPU driven.

    It should improve performance at the cost of processes outside FFXI. Try bringing it up to normal and see if it stays there. I know on manual changes in XP, changes to priority only stay in effect as long as in the window is in the foreground. As soon as you alt-tab or focus on another window, Windows will reset the priority. See if it works for you.

    As a side note, don't assign it the highest priority setting as it can make your system unstable.

    Yeah it goes back down to low, is there any way to keep it at normal at least?

    Re: Task Manager---> Set Priority

    Unfortunately the only way I've heard of being able to do this is to add a /normal switch to the line that launches the program. This is easy enough for a normal program that launches from a shortcut, but FFXI as you know is launched via command from POL. I have no idea if you can get in to add a switch to that command, but I would guess no. AFAIK there's no way to keep this permanent from task manager alone, sorry :/
