I am Legend Alternate Ending finally leaked

The Alternate was more like the actual book, in which some of the infected were of higher intelligence/retained more of their humanity than others. I agree with Xavier too.

After reading the other thread when the movie first came out I went and got the book. Unless the copy I found was edited or something was wrong with it I hated the book, was too short, and I think the ending sucked horribly.

The book had him dying at the end?(if I remember, read it a few months ago, and I read a lot of books) I don't really see how it correlates with the book much either.

I do think though that some movies need to have the whole sad element/ending to them sometimes, two movies I use as a basis for saying this are The Butterfly Effect(the directors cut version) and The Guardian, both of which are two of my all time favorite movies, and the endings are for a lack of better words just plain sad.

Eh, the whole "Believe in God" thing was kinda lame. There was also no... Resolution? That was annoying. I never read the book so I could care less if it follows the book.

I know the movie is nothing like the book but fromm the way the movie was created from start to finish I feel the original ending fits more with the overall theme of the movie, versus trying to make the last bit closer to the book.

I cried and the end of the movie, and as much as I like happy endings I think that the sad one had more of an impact on me.

Yeah, for sure. I saw it with my friend on like the last day it was in theatres so we had the theatre to ourselves and we talked and discussed as the movie was going on and after

he pulled the gun out and they started talking about firing I jokingly said to my friend "Haha, this is about the time when the rainbows are going to come out and the Mist is going to disappear, but only after they kill eachother first!" and he was like "No way, that would never happen, them all dying would be too depressing! Especially after all they've been through!"

Sure enough, the ending I jokingly predicted was not depressing enough I guess, and when we saw how it *actually* ended we were like the whole way home. I believe our entire conversation for the thirty minute drive was us just repeating over and over "Why in the hell would he shoot his own son?! WHY WOULD HE DO THAT?!"

Did any of you guys see the painting at the beginning of The Mist? I'm pretty sure it had The Gunslinger and the Dark Tower. If JJ Abrahms doesn't pick up the Dark Tower series i'm betting it'll be Frank Darabont, who has already done alot of King movies.

Yeah, this ending feels like they just tried to tack on things that the book addressed...only...they would have needed to do so about 1/2-2/3 through the movie. Not 5 minutes before the credits rolled.

I did enjoy watching I am Legend..but I think everyone is giving it way too much credit..I mean, its just another zombie movie...28days later (very similar to I am Legend, and its a really nice movie)? dawn of the dead? Resident Evil? nothing new there, just a new actor, different make up artists, and different scenery.

That's basically what they made it into, yeah. The book is very different and wouldn't be so easily classified with them. Not just due to being more clearly about vampires than generic Mummy-recycled "zombies".

I didnt like this ending too much. It seemed to cheesy I guess, and did not really fit in with the plot of the disease. Although I didnt like the actual ending that much either,
