Halp guys, I need a TV. Was wondering where the best store to get one is? Is Circuit City still reliable? Or maybe Best Buy? Also, brand names that I should focus on. Spending limit is $700-1000ish. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

I got a Samsung 32" which has worked well for me. I spent a little more then that, but that was over a year ago and the prices have come down a bit since then. Sharp and Sony are other good brands as well.
42 inch Vizio - $999
problem solved![]()
yea i got a 37" vizio for $767 and love it
So Best Buy, Circuit City or somewhere else? Vizio is really that good? 700-900 for a 37-42" TV just sounds like.. such an awesome deal, that it can't be real D:
its only 720p is the only downside, but for a wii that won't make a difference, and honestly for most things it won't. it can do 1080i if you need that as well.
I made a thread in here about this same thing a while ago and I ended up going with the 37" Vizio and i have to say it's absolutely amazing. Money well spent and the picture is fantastic. I've played on my friends 47" Samsung and imo it looks just as good while costing much less.
EDIT: Here's that thread I made if you want to read it: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=29835
yea i own samsung lcds for all my computer monitors and honestly the difference between colors is very very small. the vizio really looks great.
Awesome then. Someone mentioned Best Buy was a better store for it too, but if they have a decently priced Vizio, I'm all for it. I don't mind just having 720p, it'll be better than what I'm using right now in place of my previously fried TV. (I'm using a 19" RCA that doesn't even support A/V for the Wii, and I had a 27" iLo piece of shit before that) so yeah. You can see the huge improvement I'd have. I suppose they come with the HD Ports and what not right? I don't know much about Vizio TVs and what not. ;;
mine has 2 hdmi ports, 2 component inputs, 1 rca input, and 1 antenna
Same with mine, plenty for all the HD gaming/TV watching you need.Originally Posted by izembo
Can't beat a 42 inch for 999 imo.
bought a 32inch sony 720p for 789 from best buy after i sold my wow account. xbox circlet games look great and wii games look ok through component cables. saving my 2nd HDMI slot for my pstriple when MGS4 is released. honestly 1080p is only worth it for TVs bigger than 40 inches and my a 32 inch is just fine for my room.
Thanks for all the help guys. I'll be taking care of it when I go get Brawl this Sunday. I shall use the advice from this section to get the perfect tv!
Let us know what you get!![]()
I will for sure. I hope I don't make a stupid decision like last time D:

A bit ago. Thoughts? I don't know anything about HD really except the basics. Like.. I don't know how the component cable thing works for the Wii to get it to 480p resolution and what not, not sure which cables I'd need in general. It's just so confusing to me as I've always had semi-average TVs. D: If you guys find any other types of TVs, please throw them in this thread? I'd appreciate it greatly.
looks good, almost the same set i have 'cept mine is solid black, and yours would have PIP which mine doesnt. looks good for the cost.
PIP? o.o; Picture in Picture? I've never understood that, honestly. x.x /feels stupidOriginally Posted by izembo
yea, the one you linked has picture in picture. mine doesnt. not that i'd really use it just stated one of the 2 differences i saw. your's also might have an audio out which i dont think mine does, but i didnt really care about that either.
Well there are terms in the TV description I don't really understand, like what certain things are used for as I've only used like.. 3 t hings on a TV. The spot for my basical cable hook up and the A/V ports for video game stuff. D:Originally Posted by izembo
