Memories
<3 I have 2 1gig 800mhz dims... also have 2 512 664mhz(I think)
Can I put them all in the same MB or should I just get more memory that runs at 800mhz also. will the 664mhz put me down or will having 3 gigs ofset the negative speed.

Re: Memories
your 800 ones will be clocked down to 664
best solution is to stay at 2GB or 4GB so you can run dual channel if your motherboard supports it (you cant run dual channel at 3GB since your sticks wont be identical) and to go with the 800Mhz sticks

Re: Memories
Best practice as far as RAM is concerned is to keep DIMMs paired and have the same brand/speed for each pair. There's no "rule" against mixing and matching, but if you ever have problems the first thing I'd do is take out one of the pairs. And like KG said, your mobo will clock down the 800mhz to match the lowest speed you have.

Re: Memories
Thanks for info, I figured they would be brought down to the lower speed. I have a core2 Duo processor.

Re: Memories
If you're running XP, stick with 2gb, if running Vista I'd be tempted to go with 3gb but slightly slower.

Re: Memories
I say run 3GB. With RAM quantity > quality. Since you'll be running at 667MHz, you can lower your RAM timings which will more than make up for any "loss" in speed going from 800 to 667MHz.
