Ya, I've been using the same Gillette Fusion razor with the original head for like 4 years. Razor heads are ridiculously priced and the electric razor I have doesn't do shit. I may have to give in soon though, recently had to start shaving every day so as not to be scolded at work.

Well yeah, I think that goes without saying. Straight razors require a lot of constant maintenance; honing them with a strop before each use, and having them professionally sharpened once every few months or more. A straight razor is a lot like a good kitchen knife; it's going to get dull eventually and a hone just can't fix that, it has to be properly sharpened by a bladesmith to get just the right bevel on it.

With adjustable double-edge razors, the most open setting is basically like shaving with a straight razor - just not as dangerous, expensive, or high-maintenance. However, if you can ever find an old-world barber that's actually properly trained to give straight razor shaves, do it. It's really quite an interesting experience. Not to mention a bit of an exercise in letting go of some small fears, i.e. letting a stranger put a very sharp blade against your bared throat.

You can either get a shower mirror or wing it, it doesn't take very long to learn how to hit every spot on your face.

If I decide I'm going to take the time to get out the razor and shave, I want to get as smooth and close to baby faced as I can for the longest amount of time, foregoing looking like a mountain man when you wake up the next day and maybe skipping a shave that day.

I shave my entire body in the shower every Sunday. If I wait any longer, it makes it harder to shave due to the thickness coming back. Longer you wait, the more annoying it will get for maintenance.

If I let my facial hair grow for more than a couple days, I use a mach3 while in the shower. But for daily keepup, I have an electric razor as well. I also have a seperate mach3 to shave my armpit and legs (I'm a d00d) every 3-4 days. For the pubes, I just trim it down with the electric razor's beard trimmer, I tried shaving it down there once and it did not feel good the following few days.

Exfoliating and moisturizing goes a long way in keeping away ingrown hairs and irritation, trust me.

Well just shower like you normally would, let the water soften the facial area or w/e you wanna shave. Shaving is the last thing I do, and I use the Sensor Guillette (3 blades). Don't forget to use aftershave or you may get pimples, once I forgot to apply it and holy shit lol. Moisturizer is important for your skin too.

I began to trim down there when I started to go out with my gf. Just to have it tidy/clean. I'm lucky I don't have to shave my back or chest. I do, however, have hairy legs, or should I say manly legs? ;o

Trimming is good enough for me and I've never heard anybody complain. If you plan on shaving, you need to keep it that way, especially if you're planning on seeing somebody.
