datamining question

Ive been datamining for a while on the new updates as they come out, but i have a question... because it appears im doing it the hard way. I use polutils to open up the files and play with them, then for mobs and armor I pop them into modelviewer to check out what they look like.

The way I go about it, is I browse through folders, sort by date modified and look for that date to see anything new. Question is... Is there a way to figure out what files were modified without actually looking in each and every hundreds of folders that are in the ffxi folder? Stated differently... say an update is 90 megs. Is there a way to get a breakdown of what dats that 90 meg download is comprised of.

think there's a version of diff for windows (windiff?) that should do the job easy enough. probably an easier way, just the first thing that came to mind. plus i like the word "sammich."
