Was fun Niv thanks for showing me your falco, looks like I have a reason to train shiek after all.

Thanks for the advice. I went from losing horrible against level 9 CPU to winning a good amount of the practice matches. Also got used to Sonic's off platform game, it's fun as hell chasing down opponents and then smacking them off screen only to bounce back on stage. But I still gotta get used to how Homing Attack worksOriginally Posted by Nakayorz

On lunch, who's up for some brawlage?
Glad I could help. Best of luck to you getting that character to work for you cuz I sure as hell can't synergize with it. And trust me I've tried lol.Originally Posted by Elcura
Ryko! Let's play some more if your shit works now.
A bit late to respond, but why do you feel the need to train Shiek? Your Zelda seemed good enough already haha.Originally Posted by Nakayorz
When we first started our matches, I attempted to cancel your Din's fire with the reflector. Offline, I found with good timing and as long as it doesn't explode too far behind me, I could cancel it with that. It didn't work so well while fighting you so I stopped attempting it.
Remind me not to pick Spear Pillar or whatever anymore in our matches. Stupid mirrored controls!![]()
Yeah if I lag less now I can log on earlier, but that's all just random hope that Time Warner keeps their heads out of their asses, they never sent the tech today.Originally Posted by Zetah

Just get back to me later when you can play, I'm gonna do some work I think. Maybe PM me your AIM or MSN as well.Originally Posted by Ryko
I've always felt that training shiek would be a good thing to do I just was never satisfied enough with my performance with zelda to the point where I felt I could afford to focus on a completely different playstyle. Shiek can make space animals less of a headache in general and if I actually learned beyond the basics that typical shiek scrubs use it would just be handy to have that at my beck and call whenever I want to opt for speed over power. I'd specifically want to bring her out probably in scenarios where my wind riding meta game just isn't worth the effort. And unless falcos reflecter has less recovery than an air dodge it's probably not worth using over an air dodge to get by din's fire.Originally Posted by nivlakian
Sorry about that Magus, I was just playing a few quick rounds then off to writing some papers.
Ryko, Thul, Metah. Had a good time playing with you guys last night. Some funny moments, rofl.
Sorry for the overuse on Toon Link. I like him though.![]()
That Snake incident was funny as hell though, when he was getting info on Toon Link and dies, the woman he was talking to started freaking out. Speaking of Snake. Ryko... that laying mines plus throwing and dropping grenades is SOOO difficult to get through and try to hit. That is a very good strat with him. That was the first time I seen him used that way. Good job on that.
The one fight I used Kirby, I know I had to have been very annoying spamming up+b move at the edge of the platform. I pretty much mooched on it until everyones lives were almost out when I still had 3. lol. I won't do that again, promise!
Hope to brawl with you guys some more.
Zetah showed me this video of mortar sliding and I wish to god I had fingers fast enough to do it because it is fucking amazing.

If I could add that to my snake play I think I'll give people aneurysms trying to handle it.
And while I probably could stand to never see toon link again, I'm not gonna like hold it against someone if they like the character lol.
Great match, it'd be great if I could spike like that guy did. I'd say that was pretty lucky, everytime I use Ike's dair off stage I die horribly >.>
Use C stick to spike so you dont fast fall.
Wow that snake was really impressive. >_>
...wish I would've thought of that sooner. Been practicing d-air spikes the past couple of days and I curse every time I ended up in a fast fall. -.-Originally Posted by Ryko
What the hell? I've never heard of "mortar sliding" before... was he doing a fast dash+a attack then canceling into Usmash?
Yeah, the up smash doesn't cancel the momentum from the dash attack, but you have to do it right after the attack starts. It's a lot easier to pull off if you actually it someone with the dash attack.Originally Posted by Metah
that match was awesomeI didn't think sliding like that was possible
Hmmm, an interesting facet to Snake's gameplay. He plays much more aggressively, while my Snake is much more ITS A TRAPOriginally Posted by Thulius
