how can you NOT like FFA?! The game isn't all about winning duder, just enjoy the randomness ;o

1v1 is skill yes, but FFA is what makes SmashBros imo <_<

Simple: 1 person invariably has a hardon for me and only me, and if the other 2 people don't pick up on it (or do pick up on it and are opportunistic) I am subject to inadvertant (or advertant) double teams until I'm a stock down or out. Winning isn't everything but frankly if I wanted to fight 2 people at once when they don't even blink at eachother until i'm dead they might as well turn on teams and just cut the pretense. My favorite one is when the guy with the hardon for me isn't the actual good player and the good player is fighting me (and the other guy) like they would normally and the crappy player just has the sense to stand off to the side and poke at me whenever the good player gets a clean shot on me. I'm then stuck with the dilemma of going after the crappy player and spiking him out of the way and hope the good player doesnt blast my stock out before I do or going after the good player and hoping I'm good enough to take him out with a star KO (So it's not happening if the person is snake, bowser, DK, etc) so I can get the 4-5 seconds I need to blast the shitty player for being a prick. As good as any person is, few people don't notice people not attacking them.

Actual FFAs are fine, I spent most of my morning before work playing 3 way FFAs that were fun and even for the most part. FFAs where people are friends/room mates or a combination of someone with a grudge + a scatterbrained moron = not fun. I've had enough double/triple teams in the last day+ for a lifetime and would rather not play than deal with an exceptional combination of people running away/spammers/double teamers. If people find that fun then more power to them, I'd rather spend the time I do play getting better but that's just me.

And please get off the ike thing already, I play him in a 1 on 1 style for the most part.

I'll agree with you on how I hate people who have grudges against you. I attack anyone that's near, and the ONLY TIME I do something that's "grudge" worthy is taking out the guy with the highest stock when I have a Dragoon or a single target FS. Other than that, it's called Free for ALL, and I intend to play it like that. That aside, I think you don't dislike FFA but only a certain element of it (aka how people play FFA). That's understandable, but a little of it here and there is really refreshing. I know I hate doing 1v1 for awhile so FFA is relaxing to me

Yeah it makes sense when that's the case, I just like being down to my last stock with the crappy player still somewhere in the middle on his first (which the other good player doesnt really care about since he'll just wipe the floor with the other guy as soon as I'm out) and still just getting DPed, I'll downright walk off the stage if necessary just to prove the point.

Yeah.. you're occasionally going to have a huge spectrum of skill when it comes FFA, especially if you're playing with friend's friends. I don't mind when there's that guy that can't hold his own for the life of himself, but I DO mind if he crouches in the corner. That's what makes items in FFA so awesome: all he really needs to do is throw a baseball bat, grab the Smash Ball, grab a hammer, or etc and he's on par with say, your Ike. Some may think that takes out the skill but if you want a pure skill match you should 1v1. Adding the elements of strategy, randomness and complete chaos = fun times imo

But... I don't remember there being a teaming or marking in that match...



I like to get into the scrimmage if theres like 2-3 people on top of each other. If I chase someone it is either because...

1) he sits in the back (and possibly spams range)
2) he targets me for some reason the whole time
3) if 4 way and the person uses a huge range character to spam smash moves (this is usually only in Basic Brawl)

and occasionally, maybe if the person has won like 20 games in a row o_O I rather SD myself with the guy to let someone else win XD


And Ryko, you know I you <3 Man I've been wanting to play with you for the longest time but you're always idle on brawl when I see you or with someone else >_<
