Nintendo wii (where?)

So today I played Super Smash Brothers Brawl at a friend's house and seeing that Mario Kart is coming out soon, I decided that it was time for me to get a wii. So, I've been checking online but I cant find one. I have heard many stories of people getting Wiis in stores. So I ask BG, which stores are Wiis most common in? I want to just have some suggestions on where to begin my search.

Generally stores that get overlooked are ones like a grocery store that has an electronics section.

So far Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco, Nintendo World, Walmart, Target, Sears, Kmart, Blockbuster/Game Rush are sold out. i belive the other 2 retailer are outside of the US.

My advice to you is to check cheapassgamer for leaked early adds when the Wii will be listed in the paper's add. It's what my buddy did and we went out 3 hours before opening and he got his Wii about a week ago, and Brawl last night. Today Best Buy got some in stock as well as K-Mart from what I saw in the paper. Good luck.

try calling best buy, and ask when they'll get the shipments in. call that day in the morning and they can hold one for you for 30 minutes (at least thats how my friend got his today)

I got mine at Target not too long ago. Stores are getting regular shipments, but if you call them, they'll say they're sold out. Just keep checking your local stores periodically. I know Target & Toys R'Us bring theirs out on Sundays and my local Gamestop tends to bring theirs out on Tuesdays & Thursdays midday. Just keep trying unless you wanna' order the big bundle on Gamestop and wait for it to ship or get one on E-Bay

I can't believe they are still hard to find.

I got mine by overhearing Target was doing a Wii sale on Sunday back in Feb '07. Ended up getting their early and got the #5 ticket, they were only selling 30 systems that day. They ended up giving out 25 tickets, which meant only 5 were in stock when the store actually opened. It was cold as balls that day and I had to wake up at 4AM but I got my Wii.

It's honestly nothing special other than the official SSBB platform. Before then it just sat there collected dust. I really hope Nintendo has more cards up their sleeves after Mario Kart.

There's a huge Ebay market for them and websites set up to aid sellers in buying them. People can make $500 on a good day. That's why they're hard to find in stores.

They are probably going to milk every other franchise that are in Smash Bros, since all characters get huge popularity boost (Star fox, kid icarus, donkey kong?). Can probably expect more 3rd party if the wii continue to outsell everyone

around here we know the people who come regularly trying to buy them for ebay. we just refuse to sell it to them and it helps the problem a good bit.

I bougth my Wii on eBay for about $330 after taxes + shipping. My wife found one a week later at a Best Buy randomly and bought one for her dad.

If anyone is interested i'll sell them mine. I haven't touched it since I got my PS3 and by the time I want to play again i'm sure it'll be easier to find one.

I have no idea what i'd charge for it as it's a year old, however barely played. I played res evil 4 and metroid and gh3 on it that's it. I've got 2 wii motes with chucks and a few games. Everything is with it and it works like new i suppose.

If anyones interested let me know, purchaser pays s&h and insurance (if it's wanted). Hell let's have a BG auction, bidding starts at $200!! Depending on purchase price I can possible include a game or something that I have or I can add it on.

Wii are seriously that hard to find? Must be the area you live in more than anything, in my area you won't go more than 2 days without trying to find 1 if you try all major retailers, you should be able to find 1 the day you start looking.
