New PC

[Clarity]

I know nothing about PC's to be honest, I just play FFXI on them XD. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with letting me know how well this will run ffxi.

Processor/Processor Speed : Intel Core 2 Duo E8500, 3.16Ghz
RAM/Hard Disk Capacity : 4GB DDR2-800 RAM, 250GB Serial ATA
Motherboard/USB ports : Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, 10 USB Ports
Moniter : 20 Inch flat Panel (doubt that matters actually)
Graphics Card : nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB/PCI-Express
Windows Vista (Can change to XP if I want)

Just mainly wondering about frame rates for being in places like Whitegate, Dynamis, Nid/KB/Aspi camps, etc. Thanks.

That will have no problems as long as you use the right drivers for the 8800GT. Looks good

You should have good frame rates at those places, but it depends on your resolution your background res. Also FFXI is an old game, and even with my system, FPS can go down as low as 13-15 is some areas.

Don't expect it to change that much, even the fastest of computers will only run FFXI so fast. It's an old program, and it doesn't get along with new technology well. Of course if you're coming from using a shitty computer you'll see a difference, but if you ran FFXI fine before, don't expect to see a major difference. Video card performance has little effect on FFXI, it's just the way it is.

That being said that's a strong computer build, and you should be happy with it. Just don't get your hopes up with FFXI
