Re: NM Spawn Locations Conditions and Drops Discussion

just finished my Bloodlapper expedition and we went 3/4 on gnat pellets from the yagudo behind the 4 lever door sam/smn/whm/nin - whm didn't drop

As for the NM, we went 2/3 on Vicious Mufflers. TH3 for both.

Re: NM Spawn Locations Conditions and Drops Discussion

Just killed two Bloodlappers with 7 people (2 WAR/NINs, SCH, RDM, WHM, BLM, DNC), bit of a overkill on it as it was pretty easy, attacks extremely fast and hits pretty hard (350ish on War). His def is pretty low, on our first try both WARs did 2-hour and it took it down to 30% before MS even wore. We are 1/2 on it, so drop rate doesn't seem too bad. I would have to say that the surrounding Gnats by it were more of a challenge than this NM was. :3

We got decent drop rates on pelts by the Yagudo by the gate leading into the higher levels of Oztroja. Got around 3 in 15 minutes of farming with no TH.

Re: NM Spawn Locations Conditions and Drops Discussion

I posted this in the Scholar thread, but it probably fits better here.

For anyone doing the Vicious Mufflers NM: take a Paladin or just have a BLM/NIN solo it (go on Scholar to give them Stoneskin/Phalanx/etc if you're not a Black Mage). [Edit: Or take more DDs than we did, heh.] I went with NIN/DRG/WHM/BLM and it was a pain in the ass. You can sleep it, but it does build a resistance fairly quickly. The Black Mage died a few times (BLM/RDM) because of Sleep resists. It isn't difficult to kite, as it does stop to cast Absorbs. Additionally, it seems to attack faster/double attack at a much higher rate the lower it's HP gets. I don't know if all Gnats do this, as I've only fought them in Campaign and they usually gangrape me before I do anything to them. Most of the fight was spent kiting, because they do attack fast and with fairly good accuracy. Debuffs aren't the best idea if you're meleeing it with low erase power (it has a move that takes any debuff on it and AoEs it back onto you). If you're kiting with it Gravity'd, make sure everyone is out of range so the ability gets the "No targets in range" message.

Damage wise, I wasn't paying much attention, but I saw a few numbers. Freeze II hit for ~1300. I saw our DRG do a few 250 damage Jumps (don't know what usual jump damage is). It hit me (NIN/WAR) for ~200 damage on normal hits, but I saw a decent amount of 300s. I didn't have any damage reduction gear on me, so I'm sure you could get that much lower. Went 1/2 on the drop. Not sure about the XP gained, as I was dead at the end of both fights.
I'm not sure how accurate my judgment of the attack speed increase was. It may have been lucky double attacks.

Any idea on if the Molliones NMs are lottery or not? Sorry, wasn't quite able to deduce that from the info (or if anyone's figured it out yet)

It's a lotto. If you camp in the tunnel with the Tiger, just west in the open area are a DRK, MNK, and RNG Orc. We've popped him off of the MNK orc. Not sure if he can pop off of the MNK orc near the warmachine.

EDIT: I helped a MNK in my salvage group camp these for his Chakra set. He's 0/3 on the drop so far. I've only helped him do it once, but he says that the NM has popped in 2 hours since last kill.

    Rollanberry:
    Dyinyinga – Slug (J/K-9/10)
    Additional Effect: Slow
    Slug Lottery
Will inflict Silence and Amnesia unless character with hate is slowed.
    Mahant Sandals
I just noticed this. I didn't notice anything about being slowed as said above, but the way that the NM works is that he constantly tries to move right on top of you and as soon as he physically touches you even if he doesn't attack he inflicts you with Amnesia and Silence. Moving away from him well clear it up almost instantly.

Visited Zhuu Buxu this morning and killed the PHs in the north end of the hallway at H-10 for about an hour and a half, then moved into the East wing and cleared that out. Zhuu popped in that area on the following repops. I was dual boxing BLM and NIN, and had a THF friend helping. First pull we wiped due to a combination of low MP, link, and Gakure. Called in bard friend, dropped the dual box NIN, and took it down the next time around.

    On Bloodlapper...

Duo'ed this BLM/NIN and SCH/RDM (for ease). SCH solo'ed a few times while I was asleep(heh), thus likely equally soloable by a BLM using Sigil/Black Cloak and taking a long time. We'd generally take it down in ~10-15 minutes dragging it near the Kar-whatever zone(rock you can run around indefinitely, even if ungravitied).

Probably could've been killed much quicker using sleeps/timed nukes more often, but we liked playing it safe and getting it somewhere without a chance to aggro things. The AOE debuff is blinkable, but takes 1-3 shadows. Unsure if this is a result of the number of debuffs on him or what, but in any event, easily avoidable. Very easily Gravitied, and Sleep wasn't much of a problem. Heck, we even had unlucky deaths to Drain(upwards of 1500 dmg) and still easily pulled through due to kiteability while the other was weakened. His Virus spell is completely random and doesn't follow who has hate. Also seemed to go through periods where he would spam the Discharge ability, cast every chance, or simply vroom at us like a retarded volkswagen(to melee). Some crits were upwards of 550 dmg. We went 1/7 together, and overall for him 2/9. Will say this is infinitely easier to kill if you can kite... Just watch out for the Raptors, Scorpions, Goblins, other Gnats(near the ???) on the way out of the pit area.

The Pellets seem to be about 50% droprate off the SAM, SMN, and NIN yagudos by the Yagudo Parasite pool although we had some trouble getting the last one(took a few kills whereas most of the time it was every kill). Stupidly easy to farm as two casters with sleep even in the cramped camping area. These mobs are elsewhere(ie: on the bridge to the 4 lever door), however it's much easier to pull them from around the pool into the halls.

Just kill all the yags there regardless of job. All of the yag NMs in castle oztroja seem to pop off of PHs that aren't necessarily their job.
We just killed Onecut, and I believe it spawned off of a NIN mob.
Also killed Aa Zalmo the Savage as well. No drop on that.

Interested in trying exactly this, duo'ing the whole thing (pellets and NM)

We both have blm and rdm 75, maybe best to kite/kill with 1blm 1rdm?

Around how much HP does NM have?
