Doesn't kill no, but basically 2-hand weapon zerging is basically done if you have access to a m. kris. All the merits in DB, perfecting the haste items needed for 26% haste and re-do'ing my gear set is still pretty damn annoying. Who I really feel bad for are the ppl that sold a k club to fund their apoc, just to be pissed off in the end.
Level 3 DB is still worthwhile outside of a zerg :<
Diabolic Eye is pretty worthless, 20 accuracy for 15% HP down..
    Muted Soul is worthless.
Dark Seal is the only other thing besides DB worth meriting.
DB isn't great outside of zerg... It's sexy but is such a short time it can't be used that well.
Diabolic Eye is good... aside from souleater you don't need the hp. I can survive just fine with DE and like the +20 acc
Muted Soul is great for times when you want to use souleater and don't want to die (what a concept!) -30 enmity is freaking huge.
DS isn't fantastic but is usable. The problem is our spells aren't the kind that you worry about landing once, if you're going to use abs-tp, you are probably going to want it to land more than once per 10 minutes. Once per 40 seconds does a lot, once per 10 minutes is nothing.

Alright I ran my tests~ The 80% cap speculation is true. It matched my tests perfectly. I tested Hasso/Desp blows seperately and together /w small amounts of haste and they still work properly. Eq and Magic haste appears to be in order. When all combined, 80% consistantly shows to be the cap.

    In case anyone is interested, /w Relic Scythe(999 Delay), the cap was 101 frames per attack. 101 frames * 30 frames/sec = 3.66(6) seconds * 60 = 202 delay.

Sounds like drk zerg gonna require a much different set up now if u wanna 2hand but should still be effective enough to still be of use.

    Can you elaborate more?
if 80% is the new cap, then there is some cap lowered from the previous version. Which one is it? (or maybe it's better to ask which one is not changed)

It means that your maximum haste is 80% now. Magical and gear caps are the same as I understand it.

All individual categories of haste are the same, there's just a hard cap of 80%.

    Re: Haste Cap

I mean you can't blame them for doing this, they just made it more difficult for 1 single player to do tens of thousands of damage over 30 seconds and basically rape a mob that was designed to be killed with large groups over a time frame longer than 2 minutes.

You have to admit that there was a huge gradient of damage between a DRK with Apoc and a 93% haste setup and anything else in the game, attacking 80xin 30 seconds or whatever was a bit absurd, im surprised they hadn't nerfed it sooner. Come on folks...23 second Bahamut v2? I don't think that's what SE intended. The argument that "oh apoc is a relic so it justifies the damage" isn't even valid because there's a ginormous differential of damage potential between apoc, and every other relic weapon...

None, they added a new cap, a total haste cap.

It'll now take 32 seconds and an extra DRK!

Yeah, damage is drastically reduced, but I don't see why DRK zerging is in danger of being phased out. Drastically reducing insane still leaves you with pretty damn good.

I'm so glad there are some reasonable people out there. I thought at first that I was going to be crucified for daring to agree with SE that it should get a bit of a nerf.

Ok, GM won't give you back your merits from Desperate Blows. Even though I knew the answer, I just slipped that question in there at the end when they ask if there's anything else.

The GM really didn't like me though...

Least rune-chopper war is still good. Lucky for my LS, as we'd been QQ'ing about having no Drks. Apoc is in serious need of a buff, but don't know how likely that's going to be =/

    Re: Haste Cap

Its pretty sad thou that SE felt the need to say...you guys, we really suck at game designing, and the game community has now found a way to completely destroy the mobs we created to be oh so challenging and be kited around for 2+ hours to now being obliterated in 2 mins and obtaining more gear for people quicker.

Besides, not every mob in the game can be TP burned...and the ones that can be, well we just need moar BB monks, ridill wars and KC drks for now

    Huh?...

While you're at it, buff all the others since they're just as good if not worst.

How does this total cap affect swing speed due to dual wield delay reductions (please not at all :D)?

    Still DLing, can't test.

How can you say DB isn't great outside of zerg, 30sec of 15% bonus haste every 4min (with merits) amounts to a lot of damage in the end, if you are looking to win a parse then this is very important.

The problem I am seeing with Apoc, for non zerg, you are at 85% during Last Resort, therefore you are loosing 5%. (In the double march situation)

Its a lot of damage in a 1hr span if you think about it.

    Re: Haste Cap

I haven't checked, but I doubt it does at all. And definately not in any normal non-SV all out haste situation. 80% haste is alot, don't be fooled by people's bitching. It's just fully DB merited, apoc/RC equipped, /SAM w/ Hasso, SV march + haste + capped haste gear DRKs that are really going to lose out on attack speed.

    Re: Haste Cap

You are loosing 5%, which if my math was correct, is 6 hits lost every time you do Last Resort compared to before. Now multiply it by the amount of times you last resort in 1hr, and then multiple that by your average hit during Last Resort.

So lets say you can last resort 12 times an hour, and loose 6 hits every time compared to before. That is 72 swings lost an hour. During last resort a DRK might hit a merit mob for lets say 250-400 dmg (not including double proc), so lets pretend its a constant of 300. Correct me if I am wrong, but in this situation you are loosing 21,600 dmg compared to before the patch.

In a parse where you care who wins, that will make or break you.
