    Doesn't change the fact that people still spent money on it. You can even compare that situation to now. As people find all of the Indescript Markings and the conditions they spawn under, getting SCH AF gets easier and easier (compared to easier recipe for silk). It's been less than 2 days from the expansion and I'd say getting SCH AF is better than "Oh God I hope SE gives us another way to get Imperial Silk" in the same time frame.

    In the end I'd still rather touch a target in a zone than buy crafted junk off AH. I guess if you wouldn't then you can still regard this AF as "fail".

    AF is good, method of obtainment is what's fail.

    You'd like to go around zone hunting? Good for you, I don't, that's all I'm saying I'd rather buy my AF pieces and be on my merry way so I can do more useful things with my time. Easy boy, not buying "Junk" off the AH, buying items to get my things synthed.

    Ran some test on sublimation with and w/o af hat. Here's what i found.
    Without hat 2hp a tic
    With hat 3 hp a tic only works while worn

    without hat 25% of max hp taken
    with hat 25% max hp taken

    only get back mp that was taken from max hp (25% of it)
    without or with the af hat. The only thing the hat relly does is allow you to get more mp over time and not wait longer to get larger stores. 50% more effecieny at getting to max hp limit example. (6 minutes 30 seconds) without a hat to (4 mintues 20 seconds) with af hat.

    Scholar's Loafers has the effect - "Grimoire: Reduces spellcasting time" seems to give you -5% recast time and casting time.

    I tested using Light Arts + Reraise.

    Light Arts + No AF Shoes >> Recast time = 50 seconds
    Light Arts + AF Shoes >> Recast time = 47 seconds

    Seems to give -3 seconds to a base 60 second recast, so 5%.

    The casting time is harder to see, but I eyeballed it to about 5-6% less (usually casts around 61% with light arts and /RDM, but about 54-55% with AF Shoes).

    Very nice

    Indeed. How close to a RDM main does that much spell casting speed bring SCH/RDM?

    Hard to tell, but here's a list of /recast times for my SCH/RDM in current gear...

    Aspir/Drain = 42 sec
    Gravity = 45 sec
    Bind = 30 sec
    Sleep I/Sleep II = 22 sec
    Klimaform = 2.15 sec

    Pretty nice. I'm trying to get alot of these as low as possible since Manifestation would double the times for these.

    Absolutely. If you're really concerned about lower recast, particularly for Klimaform, I would think Loq. Earring, W. Turban, and Swift Belt would be good macro gear, too.

    I use all 3 of those along with the new AF boots now for Dark and Buffs. I switch out Turban for Elite Beret +1 on Enfeebles though.

    If you really went crazy, Warlock's Mantle would add another -0.5% to recast time (1% Fast Cast). Goliard Saio has 4% Haste, but you'd have to give up 15 enfeebling and dark skill.

    Oh, I guess you could get another 2% if you replaced Swift Belt with Ninturta's Sash lol.

    Re: Scholar Discussion #3 (post March patch)

    Finally finished my af last night :D The stupid slug was the worst one -.- me vs 5 other SCHs for it. Luckily after 90mins it popped on me as I ran past. And yes altho this was annoying as hell to do and I had to hp twice, I'd rather do this than pay for it since I just wiped out all my funds on 24 khroma ores recently >.>

    Something I found out about Sublimination which was nice. Had it running whilst looking for key items and nearly dropped down the full 282hp when a Sprite cured me and I started cursing the stupid thing lol. Used the JA again anyway and still got the full 282mp anyway even tho hp was full. Anyone else notice this? I was under the assumption I had to have my hp dropped to whatever level to regain that mp back. This tho kind of explains how I managed to drop below 50% hp when using it twice in a row without curing myself inbetween. I just thought it dropped the 25% cap in hp. Didn't realise it took 25% of your total hp no matter what your hp was at. Also any know about the hp cap and if I switch in hp gear then use ability then switch it off again does it keep the cap as per the gear when using it or do i need to keep hp gear on the whole time to get maximum use of it? I have things like Turban, Seveneyes, Goliard Saio, BQ Ring I would like to use to try max out the mp gained but it will sacrifice other pieces of good gear to do so if it has to remain on for the duration :/

    I'm dying to try out my nuke set up now in a manaburn and will either drag a BLM from my LS out to puddings with me or try dual box a BLM taru char I am looking after atm (altho I lag a lot and will prolly just mpk myself) just to compare Thunder 4 damage on the same mobs. I hit 1034 Thunder 3 on puddings pre-patch so with the new AF and abilities I am dying to try it again with Tier 4. I did a 1370ish Thunder 4 with Ebulience (no weather, Klimaform etc) on a worm in East Ron [s] just for fun :D My nuke gear is similar to Toth's altho I am using Elite Beret/Ele Torque/Merc Cape to take me to 303 Skill which may be too much for exp mobs so might sub in Uggy/AF Hat depending on resists etc. Much to test, may take my SCH to Dynamis-Valk tonight and give it a whirl.

    Next mission for now tho.. Retrace and the tele spells... more running for hours /wrists... -.-

    Re: Scholar Discussion #3 (post March patch)

    Stoneskin will negate the HP- tick effect of Sublimation, but still count towards MP Stored. Just like subbing /Whm will gain you auto 1hp/tick, and Sanction/Sigil Regen will take Sublimation to 1hp/tick. Or you could just do what I do; Sublimation for a minute, Regen 1 yourself, and when that wears, Sublimation for MP back and 0 HP loss.

    It's a DoT, so anything that would otherwise negate a DoT (Regen, Stoneskin, etc) negates the negative effects of Sublimation!

    I have to wonder why we did not get merits this update. The ToAU received them after the first update after all. Granted I was going to go 5/5 on charge recast or Light/Dark Arts Potency if they were choices :D No longer needed now lol

    One thing about Sublimation and Stoneskin, you can rest. That doesn't happen with any form of regen. So it's nice to pop off Sublimation and SS, then sit and get full MP and Sublimation Store.

    Duration/Recast of Klimaform and perhaps duration of Sublimation will be meritable, methinks.

    Peiste dung was pretty simple. Rather than running back and forth, wait by the Cavernous Maw. That's what I did. I afk'd a few times, and came back to check every so often. After about 30mins, it popped right in front of me.

    Just to add, I accidentally left Sublimation on and went afk for about 30 mins. The stored MP was still there when I came back. It appears that it can stay with you for some time before it wears off (if?).

    I could be wrong, but I think ffxiclopedia said the duration was 3 hours with stored mp from Sublimation. I can't confirm, stupid Websense at work blocks ffxiclopedia.
