    Then there's the Obi's for Added damage and the staves too~ Personally, I'd be happy to swap Gomlek for AF Gown for +15 Skill for a few things, Flans are squishy tho.

    Re: Scholar Discussion #3 (post March patch)

    Hurm, I'll test this more later as I have salvage soon, but my sublimination filled up instantly today after eating a banishga3 in campaign. Could taking damage fill sublimination up faster? I died right after so I couldnt tell if it was gonna give me all the required MP back.
    I think this was answered, but someone asked the same question a few days ago and I went out and messed with it.

    I went out to Meriphataud Mountains [S] and used Sublimation, then cast Dia on a Lizard. I let him beat on me. Sublimation kept ticking while I was taking damage. I took about 444 damage and then it said my store was full. I Cured myself to drop my MP down to about 350, used Sublimation, and I got 93MP back. It stopped because my HP dropped below the threshhold (as I wasn't curing myself).

    For the next lizard, I put Regen II on myself to keep me from dropping too low. 631 damage from the lizard before Sublimation went to fully stored. Sublimation gave me the full amount of MP back, but it wasn't effected by the damage I took. By that, I mean, it took the time it normally takes for Sublimation to fill.
    Additionally, I was doing Campaign around the same time. I started resting with about 100MP and tabbed away for a minute. Two Yagudo started beating on me. I gravity'd them and away. After I put Stoneskin up, I had a low amount of HP and MP (2MP, iirc). I would use Sublimation, it would do one tick to my Stoneskin and give me three MP. Using Dark Arts, Sublimation, and Parsimony I was able to keep the Yagudo bound until some people were able to take them off me.

    I thought Sublimation was supposed to stop when you were being attacked, but I'm not sure how that is supposed to function. It would lose a lot of utility if it "wears off" when the monster targets you, but if the ticks are supposed to stop...I donno. I like how it is now, but the description makes me feel like it won't stay like that.

    Sounds like good sleep protection then? I was wondering, since it says it's supposed to stop when you get attacked. If you were in the radius of a sleepga, would the sublimination dot wake you up? How about from diabolos's Nightmare? My SCH isn't high enough to test yet, or I would.

    First ones only if you're on something that resists a ton, second one are about the same as using MaB+5 gloves aside from int vs int on mobs.

    Edit : In that list, the only things I'm missing are Novio Earring (h8u jol who only spams us with noviA), Gomleck (Which I'd use errant body over it anyway since I don't have AP to waste on yigit as I live in salvage) and Yigit Crackows (which I want but can't have for said reasons).

    Re: Scholar Discussion #3 (post March patch)

    For anyone doing the Vicious Mufflers NM: take a Paladin or just have a BLM/NIN solo it (go on Scholar to give them Stoneskin/Phalanx/etc if you're not a Black Mage). I went with NIN/DRG/WHM/BLM and it was a pain in the ass. You can sleep it, but it does build a resistance fairly quickly. Additionally, it seems to attack faster/double attack at a much higher rate the lower it's HP gets. I don't know if all Gnats do this, as I've only fought them in Campaign and they usually gangrape me before I do anything to them. Most of the fight was spent kiting, because they do attack fast and with fairly good accuracy. Debuffs aren't the best idea (it has a move that takes any debuff on it and AoEs it back onto you). If you're kiting with it Gravity'd, make sure everyone is out of range so the ability gets the "No targets in range" message.

    Damage wise, I wasn't paying much attention, but I saw a few numbers. Freeze II hit for ~1300. I saw our DRG do a few 250 damage Jumps (don't know what usual jump damage is). It hit me (NIN/WAR) for ~200 damage on normal hits, but I saw a decent amount of 300s. I didn't have any damage reduction gear on me, so I'm sure you could get that much lower.

    Are you missing the point? This is the set up for Max Damage Output
    I don't think he's missing the point. The general "ballpark" is 2 INT = 1 MAB. Yigit is 5 MAB, Mahatma is 11INT, so you get better output according to this rough ballpark using Mahatma. If you do not believe in this ballpark, then you'd have to say why Yigit Head and AF1 Head are listed as alternatives being that they are 2 MAB vs. 4 INT (which is a better return than 5 MAB vs. 11 INT).

    SCH is an incredible nuker. You won't be able to compete with well geared BLMs in damage per shot, but you can easily beat even the best BLM in damage per MP used efficiency. I was doing Elementals in Temenos with some BLMs and I was killing them in MP efficiency. Because charges are only 1 minute recast, you can spam Parsimony (50% MP cost) like crazy. On some random 75+ mobs, I was just testing between my BLM and SCH. My BLM did 1510 on a Blizzard 4 a 10% weather bonus while my SCH did 1242. That's still a pretty big damage difference, but if we look at MP efficiency...

    BLM = 1510 / 164 = 9.207
    SCH = 1254 / 148 = 8.473

    Pretty close... Now what if SCH uses Parsimony or Ebullience?

    SCH (norm) = 1254 / 148 = 8.473
    SCH (pars) = 1254 / 82 = 15.293
    SCH (ebul) = 1254 * (1.2) / 148 = 10.168

    If SCH uses either charge in my case, the damage per MP spent effiency actually beats out my BLM. Both BLM and SCH are essentially near perfectly geared. This is excluding the SCH bonuses of casting faster, having better recast timers, being able to weather buff yourself, etc. The only big thing I can see BLM having an advantage in is higher spike damage, a better for nuking, and +20 Elemental Skill. This is for nuking sets, not Elemental Gear sets. I really love my BLM and have worked on it for years, but frankly, SCH blows it out of the water right now at nuking effiency on normal mobs. Not even going to get into how much better SCH is at backline play and then all the crazy Manifestation/Accession tricks.

    I use Mahatma Hpl. + AF1 Head btw.

    I'll say that the body is situational depending on what you're trying to nuke. But on exp mobs like pudding i'll say yigit body is better imo. But on others it's really situational.

    As SCH, would maintaining the 50% MP for ugly pendant be advisable? The job has a pretty low MP rating (even with 8 MP merits in nuking gear I only have roughly 800 MP as hume, but maybe less)to begin with and if a situation came up where you needed to multitask a lot you might be left dead in the water. Even with a full MP charge, I don't know if I would feel comfortable hovering at low MP on a job that was built to multi task so well..

    Thoughts? Bear in mind though, this is my first "real" mage job I've taken to 75 (not counting SMN or BLU).

    Re: Scholar Discussion #3 (post March patch)

    It all comes down to personal preference and what mob you are fighting. If you are fimiliar with a blm and which set to use ( elemental or full dmg MAB ) the same rules apply to SCH.

    A SCH is pretty much a RDM with tier IV in terms of raw nuking power and elemental resist.
    Im sure anyone who has a 75 SCH at this point has either blm or rdm leveled to understand resist and gear choice.

    For anyone who isnt fimiliar with elemental manaburning stuff, stick with +elemental skill and + int over MAB.
