ah thx
ah thx
I am currently 1/5 on helix merits/ But I will go higher XD. What do you guys think the best set up is for helix gear? I use ixion cloak, errant cuffs, penint rope, diamond ring, golaird clogs, rainbow cape, hq staves, elemental torque, abysell earring and moldy for helix
HQ staff/Bugard +1/-/Phantom
-/Torque(Ugga)/Moldavite/Novio
Ixion Cloak/Yigit Gages/Snow Ring/Snow Ring
Prism Cape/Argute Belt/Mahatma Slops/Goliard Clogs(Yigit Crackows)
/sigh
Arts:
Optimizes xxx magic capability while lowering xxx magic proficiency. Grants a bonus to xxx magic. Also grants access to Stratagems.
Enlightenment
Optimizes both white and black magic capabilities and allows access to both addenda for your next spell.
Do the Japanese have different words for optimize like Eskimo's and snow?
I don't have novio, or a second snow ring (I just use omega's), I answered that as optimal. And I've been under the impression that you don't need obi to proc on weather for helix spells.
Ixion Cloak is fucking sex though. Needs more Novio! =(
You have to remember that Helix has a dual nature where u get the bonus DMG proc from weather but you also get higher duration = more ticks.
Obi gives u that extra tick or 2 by enhancing its magic accuracy.
5/5 Stormsurge is pretty cool. I decided to go
3 Enlightenment
5 Stormsurge
1 Focalization
I'm gonna finish Focalization and that'll be it for group 2. Not sure if I want to take away points from Enlightenment since it is slightly dissapointing so far..but I'm sure there will be certain times when I'm changing arts as soon as possible (like lowman stuff). So far, for LS events I just stay on dark arts though.
Focalization doesn't really seem super worth it either, it just seems like it will be paired with Eb for the MAB on a big boss with Modus Veritas (I'm at 5/5 helix and 4/5 MV), and nothing else. With 3 charges gone instantly just for a helix, I'm sure I'll use that even less then Enlightenment.
With so many ways to play sch, I think going mix might be best. Either way, just unlocking enlightment is worth it.
Group 2 is definitely much better than Group 1 overall. I need 8k EXP to cap out 5/5 Helix. I went with that and Sublimation (which is obviously rather "meh").
I'm going to open Enlightenment up and then cap Stormsurge. If SE makes it so Enlightenment removes the penalty in MP cost and casting time I may go 5/5 with it. Otherwise, I'll put 4 into Focalization. I don't see the new Stratagems as being useful with <3 merit levels into them.
Focalization is deftianly a merit to use if you like nuking with sch, as most know they do have Magic accuracy problems compared to blm, and it's always nice to land those gravity and binds should you fear any resists, i personaly would like to go 4/5 on it, i already did 5/5 stormsurg, i highly doubt that enilightment effect is permanet, it's somthing they may fix, but if they don't...it honeslty dosnt make sense, as optimizing both means you get the full benefits, at the moment the most i use it for is a free reraise 2 or raise 2 when i have no charges left and under dark arts, other wise, im really debating if i should keep it or not, Altruism seems comeplty pointless as the only 2 spells that benefit from it are slow and paralyze, and 9/10 you won't be taking care of those, assuiming most schs sub RDM, foca is the only thing worth 2 charges, the other 3...could have just been 1 charge...has anyone found a good use for the others? and am i the only one who thinks we need more max charges now? -.- yea there is 2 hour...but still...look at SAM![]()
Yeah I nuke with Scholar :XD! I will be putting merits into focalization!
Is MV merits no good now? everyone seems to be doing helix and sublimation. I was under the impression that 5/5 MV merits were best if you had other SCH to stack them with. Srry if this has been posted but i only remember seeing some rough testing a few pages back, i was under the impression that you can increases dmg by stacking SCH with MV merited.
I like my MV merits but with the new Sublimation AF2 that one might be better. Personally I don't really use MV all that much but it's still kinda nice.
I had MV merits before, but then I realized how useless they were after a while, you don't get much return back for the amount of merits invested, I've dumped them all and just went with sublimation, esp since I got AF2 body (boo/hiss that it's not a real refresh).
I have 5/5 helix and 4/5 MV. Do you think the Sub merits are worthless? I could always put one in Sub but I have a feeling 1 merit of it won't do. >.>;
Also I capped group 2 and so far I think it's ok, but I havn't done any real stuff on SCH yet.
I love the sub merits because I'm constantly using sublimation, I didn't like MV merits because I always forgot to use it and I felt it was a waste :>
If you see yourself healing a bunch or even soloing, I'd go for sublimation over anything. All you're basically doing with sublimation is meritting MP again. You get a total of 50 MP back if you went 5/5 sublimation which is not bad when you usually get 270+ back natively (so you'll start getting over 300 mp back).
Only problem I see with this is if you do not use AF1 hat sublimating, it'll take a long time to get all that MP back if you live off using the whole charge to full first.
Then again I'm mainly a healer SCH and nuke every other day, maybe more nuker SCHs can give you insight on sublimation.
I don't really use SCH to heal. Mainly for super mp efficient nukes, helixes, and sometimes some lowman stuff. I don't have the af2 body (or any af2 because it doesnt drop..), but I'm thinking even 4/5 MV merit's makes MV worth using, due to the extra damage, right? So one sub merit might be good? Damn it I need math people to figure this out because I hate that stuff.
May have to mathematically re-evaluate how good Sub merits are with the AF2 body out.
I still like 5/5 MV 5/5 Helix though. It's a strong 1 time damage tool. For instance, in Nyzul, you can do like a 230 damage Luminohelix > MV and do about ~2500 damage for 79 MP. Good for bosses and those annoying melee resistant mobs.
I also suck at constantly using Sublimation every time it's up. I usually sit on it unless I fall below about 60% MP when in Light Arts.
^ There you go! 2 perspectives from opposing sides. How wonderfully delicious. When I'm main healing on SCH I'm usually using Sublimation any chance it's up.
