Sch in Salvage is amazing. I lead my Salvage group so I get Magic/JA/SJ/HP (and then Body/Head) first in chest, and then we are just unstopable (equipment cells only if they are in starter chest, if not then whatever.

I find that Scholar is an amazing job in lots of different situations, and my melee parties prefer me as Scholar to heal them due to actually being able to keep them alive. Not by Recovering lost HP, but Negating damage dealt, which is Scholar's forté. I hate, with a passion, Scholaring for Black Mage parties, because the temptation, for me at least, is to be in DA-Mode, and with a bunch of Blms that demand Weather and Klimaform from time to time, the switch is often frustrating. The only reason Scholar has become acceptable and preferred, to my linkshell at least, is because I only went on Scholar to events at one point, just to prove a point. It's stuck since then (eventhough I do have a Morrigan Blm, Marduk Brd, Pimped lolSmn and AF2+1 Cor with lulzmerits). I still Brd for Bosses, but Sch for anyrun that isn't a Boss. the AoE spells are invaluable, given you have Magic/JA/SJ from starter chest.

So what gear currently out, if any do you think SCH will be added to? Personally I think SCH is going to get added to either zenith, and shadow(hadean), simply because neither of these sets really push SCH towards the healer, or the nuker side. Also, every other mage (except BLU) is on both of these sets as well.

I can see shadow set but not zenith set for sch. I think what SE is trying to do is create new jobs that don't need previous gears released to function. In essence a push of the player base to a direction in alternative gears out there.

It's a bit silly that Scholar can upgrade Nyzul relic weapon, but has to do Salvage in order to obtain it, yet with no reward from Salvage itself. Obviously, this goes for Dancer too. Salvage is the only event in the game currently that doesn't benefit all the jobs, and this NEEDS to be addressed. Please, please, please put Scholar on Morrigans so that I can gain a stupid amount of Inventory spaces. Thank you and G'dnite~

I feel like putting SCH on morrigans wouldn't happen, SCH would have to be put on marduk too imo, which no jobs are on 2 salvage sets. Just thinking it'd have to be both or neither because it seems SE is trying to keep SCH very balanced.

Well the problem isnt so much sch as dnc. If you put sch on morrigans or marduk its fine sence it doesn't excede the 4 jobs per set currently in place. On the other hand dnc cannot be put on any set that would naturally be the best to use for it (utsu or skadi) without exceeding this current job limit of no more then 4 jobs per armor set.

Why? RDM isn't on Marduk and technically they're half & half too.

Oh noes, an armor set may have more than 4 jobs on it! What will we ever do?

Worlds are not going to end if Skadi suddenly has 5 jobs that can wear it.

I'd probably see Scholar on Morrigan's long before I see it on Marduk.

Also, cannot remember which interview it was but the reason SCH has not seen itself added to certain sets is due to the devs wanting people to move past old content (ie. Sky). So it begs the question: does SE consider Salvage old content? Difficulty: no talk of the recent dupe bannings.

Meh, Zenith offers absolutly nothing useful to sch either way, since Vicious mufflers are a exact subsitute without the -HP on hands they don't need Zenith set at all as they have a refresh body peice which is the ixion cloak, shadow gear is mainly magic accuracy so that would make since, but they also really don't need that either.

And the marduk set is comeplty useless to SCH imo, only thing it offers is MND and some MP. which is minimal at best, the fast cast is also matched by af1 feet and af2 Head.

Morrigan's has melee + int + mnd bonuses, and imo rdm isn't meant to be a healer they just got niched into that roll because of refresh (But thats just personal opinion). But idk for some reason I just don't see sch ever getting put onto morrigan's, I guess we'll see though

and on the zenith being useless for sch comment, sch has no refresh body, they have 2 refresh/regen cloaks, but you lose out on the head slot because of that. closest thing to just a refresh body we have is relic body.

I don't think it's "old" content so much as "previous" content.

SE doesn't like to go back and add to gear that predates job classes. There are of course a couple exceptions, but by and large, post-Zilart jobs are not added to gear that predates them.

Well it is odd that both sch and dnc are on NI set's which has been around longer then salvage. The problem with these jobs is outside af+1/relic/+1 there is almost no gear to get from endgame that couldn't be bought off the ah for them. Leaving the jobs with very little to get out endgame. Though id argue that sch has more use endgame and gets more gear then dnc (sea mainly).

There are going to be exceptions to every rule, but if you look at Salvage gear as top-tier, and king/god gear sets as top-tier, it makes a little more sense.

SCH and DNC got Nyzul gear for the same (unknown) reasoning that BLU got Homam.

Plus, and this is more important for DNCs to remember, jobs will get gear later. It's tough to be omitted from previous sets of gear, especially for older characters who would like to double up on existing armor they own, but SE will release more gear later on, and SCH and DNC will be a part of that gear. The hard part is waiting.

When they add new jobs, they wait to see what functions players use the jobs for, see what adjustments need to be made to the jobs, and basically try to make anything overpowered. That's why they exclude them from most current endgame equipment. The ones they add them to are ones that will actually help the job without overpowering it.

Also, Goliard Body (superior recast- on a body piece.)

BLU was put on Homam AND Nashira, which from a lore standpoint makes sense, but Nash may as well not have been added, cuz it's fucking useless for BLU ('cept maybe body.)

As far as DNC & Skadi, I agree that making it the only 5 job set wouldn't rend the world asunder (change anything), but I also don't see what that has to do with SCH. -_- The only two sets we'd be considered for are already 3, we wouldn't be breaking any imaginary barriers. Though I suppose I should note that whichever set we're placed on (probably morri), whatever was left would be 3 and would be an anomaly just as a 5 would be (instead of being 4 melee/3 mage). If they're really up their own asses about this "the numbers have to be even" crap, then my guess is they're going to wait until they add more jobs to even the whole thing out. Hell, they might even add a new set when that happens, fucking our shit up even more. -_-

Umm...Ixion cloak is a damn good body for sch for more then just "refresh" if you don't have morganas coat, and you are NOT nuking somthing highly resistant, the claok is a very good peice to do it in, +5 magic accuracy and 13 mnd+INT is far more useful then a refresh idle peice the A body would give, and quite frankly verm cloak is a peice of shit, the only thing verm cloak offers IS the refresh, but neither verm nor A body is good for anything other then idle, while the ixion cloak can be done with just about anything, so yes it is COMEPLETLY useless to sch, i don't see any other reason for the z set other then I GOTTA HAVE ALL THE MP I CAN junkies. You don't need a head peice to have refresh...and the ixion cloak gives you more then enough bonuses to were you don't need a head peice that bad such as af1 hat, if elemental skill is your issue then AF1 body and af2 head (if you have it) if not, then af1 head+ body OR elite beret+1 if you feel you don't need the INT. even for enfebling the claok is just as useful, again if it's not a HNM or anything super resistant. it's SCHs best body for most anything. except goliard/errant for healing.

Ixion Cloak is a nice piece, but it is not the be all, end all piece. I'd still take SCH's Mortarboard/Errant over Ixion Cloak. If I'm not hitting resists, then MACC is going to do me dick.

The only place you could even begin to justify using Ixion Cloak (besides it being an idle piece) is if you're casting Enfeebles in Light Arts. You have SCH's Mortarboard/Errant (or Mahatma) for damage, Argute Mortarboard/SCH Coat (+1) for resist, Elite Beret/SCH Coat +1 for Dark Art Enfeebles, Goliard Chapeau/Saio for Healing, Chapeau/Argute Coat for Enhancement and Insert Favorite Head/SCH Coat (+1) for Dark spells. And even then, you're not guaranteed to wear IC all the time if you're utilizing Sublimation with SCH's Mortarboard/Argute Coat.

Ixion Cloak only excels as a catch-all piece, but it follows the rule of catch-all pieces: jack of all trades, master of none.

Hmm so SCH mortarboard which s +4 INT and errant which is +10 INT= +14 INT vs a claok which is +13 INT +5 Magic accuracy so your saying +1 INT > 5 magic accuracy Overall? call me crazy but i thought the whole point of Higher INT was to land the actual spell since more INT means more accurate spells where magic accuracy Raw gives you just that..

And if you read the whole post you will notice i already coverd the benifts of Af 1 body for resists, let me state again the claok is better for things that are NOT highly resistant, i'v fought everything as sch, HNMs limbus, salvage, dynamis etc, testing out cloak vs body, of course the af body for HNMs but every thing else, the claok was serving me far better, it's better for enfeebling due to the fact af1 pants give you the +15 skill (for paralyze and slow btw) as far as gravity, bind and sleeps are concerd you are better off with af1 body, and tbh i stoped using the elite beret since it didnt help at all anymore after the updates due to being able to control magic accuracy (Klimaform, Focalization) so i went back to af1 hat for dark based enfeebles (you still want the beret for sleeps tho) i'v had no issues sticking enfeebles aside occasional resists from Job that have the resist trait. but even then focalization takes care of that to. the moral of the story is, +1 INT is not better then 5 accuracy. everything else you mentioned i already said and was more on the common sense side.

There's a difference between dINT and MACC/Skill. If you're already exceeding resistance rates, then MACC/Skill is going to do nothing. dINT is usually the next hindrance in raw damage.
