Re: Corsair, Charges, Random deal & Card-Zerg.

My LS has three 70+ COR (2 75's unmerited and 70 me, alas). Wish we could get them in one group for Dynamis and try this out.

When calculating the max damage for quickdraw, how come you don't include AGI builds? I thought AGI was a damage modifier for Quick Draw? no?

Re: Corsair, Charges, Random deal & Card-Zerg.

I did a very very very very quick test (other COR had to go to dynamis).

    Situation was this:

    COR 1
    - Loaded Deck lv1
    - Snake Eye used

    COR 2
    - Snake Eye used

The hypothesis was that since Random Deal only has roughly a 60% (from Wiki) chance of restoring an ability if you only have one on Cooldown, both COR would use Snake Eye to create a second ability. Snake Eye was chosen because it is an ability that every COR should have anyways and because being a 15minute ability I would think that it would be prioritized way lower than Quickdraw.

We went outside Whitegate and shot us a spider, basically we went

    COR 1
    Quickdraw
    Quickdraw
    COR 2
    Quickdraw
    Quickdraw
    COR 1
Random Deal (With Loaded Deck) [ Both our QD were restored ]
    Quickdraw
    Quickdraw
    COR 2
    Quickdraw
    Quickdraw
    Random Deal (Without Loaded Deck)

This is where our experiment ended since it didn't recover my QD (it recovered my Snake Eye) and from what the other COR said, it only recovered a single charge of QD for him.

Basically this single cycle test just showed that it may very well be possible to create a quickdraw chain nuke. There are however, a great deal of variables that have to be worked out before this becomes something viable in an end-game environment. The following needs to be addressed...

    - Random Deal Priority (Need to figure out how it prioritizes JA since it needs to target QD at least 70% of the time for it to work well)
    - Random Deal Failure Rate on Single ability (A lot of COR probably already know this since it's addicting, if you try to Random Deal after you use QD and it's the only JA on Cooldown, you'll 99% get it back (haven't failed yet) since it doesn't treat RD as another JA (since I've failed restoring Snake Eye when it was the only JA on cooldown) that means the failure rate is definitely higher than 50%, or perhaps different JA just have different failure rates.
    - Unmerited RD and single charge restore (This really has nothing to do with QD chain nuking, since every COR should really have this at lv1 at least, but perhaps if someone else can confirm if this is actually the case or did the other COR just bullshit this)

Really that makes Random Deal the only (albeit big) obstacle in preventing Quickdraw chain nuking. Once I get the time (and can find another COR) I'll try to test whether or not only having QD on cooldown on both COR will recover with a merited random deal at a good %.

This is why my scenario uses people with loaded deck 3/3, the additional two ranks raise the chance of activation on a single JA by 20% (which in my experience has been 70% restore rate)

    - Unmerited RD and single charge restore (This really has nothing to do with QD chain nuking, since every COR should really have this at lv1 at least, but perhaps if someone else can confirm if this is actually the case or did the other COR just bullshit this)
Everytime i've RD'd or WC'd quickdraw since patch it restored both charges(which doesn't mean it can't restore one, I could just be very lucky, but it definitely can restore two)

Re: Corsair, Charges, Random deal & Card-Zerg.

I would be suprised if 3/3 Loaded Deck was really needed for this. I have only 1/3 Loaded Deck, and rarely will Quick Draw fail to get restored. Not saying it hasn't, but i'd say 90%+ of the time, it gets restored. My friend has a slightly lower rate, and has 0 merits in Loaded Deck.

The power of COR in a zerg shouldn't be underestimated. By no means are we a powerhouse, but last night on DL my friend landed 2x Slugshot for 1950 (Need good gear tho, my max under similar situations was only 1675), as well as 7x Fire Shot for 233 (No Moldavite/Novio, or Denali, no Wizard/Warlocks). Obviously since you are moving CORs around while moving BRD around, Chaos + SV Minuets, attack food, and STR gear in all slots allowed for a powerful Slugshot, even from a COR, with low probability of missing due to Feint. That's 3900 damage from Slugshot + 1631 from Fire Shots, for a total of 5531 damage, from your support job. The second Slugshot itself was from Wild Card, he didn't even have time to use Icarus Wing, which probably would've added another 1950.

Re: Corsair, Charges, Random deal & Card-Zerg.

Random Deal on self seems to be very accurate. I haven't failed to restore Quickdraw yet with random deal (lv1). Problem is restoring other people's quickdraw. That seems to have a lower restore rate which would be essential for this to work. If you were to change the calculations for a zerg with 6 people with a 50% RD restore rate that would change the total shots from...

    [6ppl x 2charge x 6rd] x 6wd = 432

    to...

    [6ppl x 2charge x (6rd x 50%)] x 6wd = 216

As is well known, >=1 merit in Loaded Deck ensures that if you have two abilities down, one is guaranteed to be restored (I am certain that 2hrs do not count towards the "two down" requirement, and I'm fairly certain that RD does not either).

However, in my experience, you can "force" a reset on the JA of your choice with ~90% accuracy: RD reset the used JA with the shorter recast with overwhelming frequency. Therefore, it's pretty easy to force a reset on any JA with a shorter recast than Fold; just use Fold first. With Fold (and no other JAs) down, QD will be reset with clockwork reliability, provided (again) that all participating CORs have at least one merit in Loaded Deck.

We need to test this with RD being down because if it does count(or even if 2h counts i.e. it can hit them to no effect and is just wasted), that dramatically alters the out-come.

Reason I initially proposed the 3/3 LD is because it has a calculable effect that can be relied on where we don't know the above information.

If any CORs on Titan wanna get together and help me I'd be glad to do some data collecting.

2h simply does not count towards Loaded Deck; this is fairly easily verified.

Use 2h, use [other JA], use RD. If 2h counted, [other JA] would be reset 100%. This is not the case.
Use 2h, use [other JA], use [another JA], use RD. LD'ed RD performs exactly as expected.
Tests like these are simple to replicate in Safehold, Nashmau, Rabao, etc.

Like I said, I don't party with another COR often enough to know for certain whether or not a used RD counts as a "man down" for LD purposes, but based on the existing behavior as I interpret it (JAs that are ineligible to be reset do not count towards the LD total), it seems highly unlikely that it would.

But more testing is never a bad thing.
