    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

Took Panama Au Laitx2 and soloed the BC on THF/NIN. kept getting full HP recovery when shit got hairy. Didn't even bother with shadows half the time. AOE WS rule in there. I used Cyclone exclusively 'til the boss Yag' showed up.

I bleed Bastokan blue, but boy is Windy's leg of WoTG heads and shoulders the best so far.

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

Finished late last night, and I gotta agree- Windurst's storyline missions are tops in my book. It may be a mite biased from being a diehard Windurstian, but it really is that kinda awesome.

    Bit of spoilage ahead-

    For me it was:

    1) Go to the door in Windurst, teleport to SC, run to Jeuno door, click door, cutscene. You'll now need a 108-knot to trade to that door for the next CS.

The little "forts" tend to have 2-3 Yagudo in them- I was lucky enough to go 1/3 off a SAM Yagudo for the 108-knot. Seems it'll drop off any of them, though.

    2) Teleport back to home nation, teleport to East Ronfaure [S] and enter for a cutscene. Head towards the Mog Houses- Squire Alley is the "jughandle" alley right at the fountain. Click on the "House" door for another CS and a platinum beastcoin.

    3) Teleport to Fort K-N. The Mithra you want to talk to is right above the Goblin vendor.

    4) Run to Castle Oztroja. When you enter, it'll go into another CS. Warp back to home nation, teleport back to Fort K-N and talk to the same Mithra.

    5) Epic CS. You'll get a fort key as a temp key item, hit the Colorful door inside the fort as noted. Ghoyu's instance, a loop tunnel area.

For the instance, I was a destroyer of worlds as RDM/BLM. Cyclone obliterates, Thundaga will also serve to clear the air. Would repeat that any time just to get the satisfaction of dumping 20 Yagudo on their faces at once...after all the recent Campaign changes, sweet sweet revenge. The boss Yagudo (the Austere) is a WHM-type, but did not Benediction (did Holy and Flash me, -naed itself.) and can be debuffed reasonably. The Yagudo are fragile, but there's lots of them and you can be nickel and dimed to death if unwary. AoE is your friend, so is Phalanx (or Phalanx II) + Stoneskin. Average grunt Yagudo lasted through 2-3 shots from my Marital Dagger.

    6) After instance, enter Windurst gate for another CS. You'll get a...er...special treat from Mihgo. Congratulations, you're now a part of Windurstian history.

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

Tried a couple times to solo this BCNM as RDM/BLM (with -physical damage gear). I come close when I use Chainspell -agas in the main room. I can't seem to collect Yags in smaller groups (when you first enter they start running from you).

It wouldn't be too much of a problem, I thought, because I had RR on always. But! I tend to run out of stem when its just me vs. Austere. He's killed me twice, and unlike other Yags, he dosen't walk away from my dead body. He Waits until I rr again. Which ruins the whole "RR and Try Again" tactic. Which makes me so sad SE being smart? or mean ?

Edit: Cut Scenes = brilliant. Male Mithra = mmmmmmm Hawt!

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

What I did was buff outside, then wait for the Yagudo to start moving away a bit before chasing the back and raking them with -aga spells.

Yagudo link on sight, so if they're facing away, they'll not all come charging at once. Melee AoE made life easier, so did spike damage (You may want to Blaze Spikes on this one).

I couldn't beat this as PLD/WAR. I even have Excalibur and its still hard. I have other jobs RDM, WHM, MNK, SAM, RNG, but I doubt any of those would do any better. The problem I have is they interrupt me from curing. If I had 1 more person I know I could win.

I try shouting for like an hour in whitegate, Windrust (s), and the Fort and nobody else wants to do this BC. I guess people on my server Phoenix are really unhelpful.

Try PLD/RDM. Usually it's all kinds of awesome for this kind of fighting.

I haven't quite got to the BC part yet, but when I do I'm trying to do it with NIN and a 2boxed BRD... that worked just fine for the Quadav BC (which is similar).

    Pld/Dnc?

Me War/Dnc + Thf/Nin and it was cake, Cyclone + Shockwave cleared em easy, I got down to like 740, Thf got down to 450 and then we dropped Austere and watched our CS.

Was harder to find the Colored Door (didn't remember where the guide said, had been a while since I read it) since I was looking outside the Fort expecting a door leading in...

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

ROFL that was BC was awesome! I went NIN/RDM (double Behemoth Knives) and BRD/WHM (mehstaff). Normal buffs, and put up Phalanx on NIN, with double ballads. When I first saw how many Yagudos there were I thought there was no way I'd win, but one was left behind by the big group so I pulled him and he died in one attack round. -_- Took me a while to catch up to the pack, but when I finally aggro'd the big group holllllyyyyyy shiitttttt lololol. Cyclone was outrageously clutch in that BC, and the TP/MP/HP refills were nice too. I got a lot of TP (which helped a good bit), some MP, but no HP, so there were a couple times when I was in the red on my NIN, but I stayed alive some how. Mobs were only hitting me for 0-15 with Phalanx on, and I eventually switched to Ballad2/Paeon5, so it was fine. Took me a while to realize why I was dying a lot faster with less and less mobs, then I realized the boss had been eating my face off for a while, switched to him and built TP to finish off the rest then switched to katanas and killed him.

    Super fun!

EDIT: Grabbed a random part of the chatlog so people can see what it's like:

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

Solo'd this on WHM/RDM. With Protect V, Tavnazian Taco, Phalanx, and Cheviot Cape at night and some evasion gear with Optical Hat, Ethereal Earring, Novia Earring, and Reverend Mail and I was taking 0-2 damage when Stoneskin was down when they actually managed to hit me. Most of the damage I took came from DoTs. I used Kinkobo, Enblizzard, and Earth Crusher, first picking off small groups on the way to the main room and pull small groups out of the large room until I aggro'd the whole thing. Once the NM popped I cleared out the rest of the mobs and switched to Perdu Wand/Genbu's Shield and Hexaraped him. I can't believe you died Lyra!

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

Just my lil piece of input on this current quest/mission.

Started out farming the 108-Knot Quithingy on RDM/PLD, used Tav Tacos because I had some left over from PLD night prior and managed to get a drop off a Yagudo Prior around K-9 ~ was about the 5th scalp claimed/killed so the drop rate on the Knot is fairly decent considering I had no form of TH. I mistakenly went over to Meri Mountains to the gates of Castle Oztroja thinking it was the Stalwart Gate but alas it wasnt the Stalwart Gate for those who made the same mistake is located infront of the Campaign/Jeuno entrance in the present. CBF getting <pos> but I shouldnt need to, hehe.

After traveling back to Fort Fundungo to get CS, over to Castle Ozi-Ostrich, then back to Fort for the BCNM (lower floor, in the northern most square of Fort Fluff) I ate a second Tav Taco before entering.

    Genbu's Shield
    Cobra Cloche/Gloves
    Chausable
    Jet Seraweels
    Crimson Leggings
    And some misc belt/ear/neck/rings~

BCNM itself! well, I've had more difficulty farming coffers on a level 1 job >_> upon entering I put up ProIV/SheIV, Stoneskin, Phalanx, Ice Spikes, Aquaveil, Haste. Made my way forward to see a group of around 15 Yags kinda stroll away to the bottom of map, they ignored me at first until I managed to catch up to end of their group. Diaga caught the attention of onry 4 of the, which were killed in the following 20~ seconds. (NOTE: Their numbers count for nothing, they took about 3-5 swings of a Dagger to take down.) Upon entering the main/biggest room of the bcnm they zerged the hell out of me from way beyond aggro distance.

With Phalanx/Stoneskin up it onry wore off once, and that was after the NM spawned (at which time, the nub Yags stopped respawning) and he went down pretty damn easy.. spammed Cyclone to kill off the nub Yags, the he ate numerous sessions of Evistabby until he hit the floor. With Stoneskin down even the NM was lucky to hit me for more then 0 dmg, criticals were noticable compared to the nub mobs though.

If you got Phalanx, you can solo this fight. Dare I say any job? My MP pool never dropped under the 300 mark~

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

Just beat BCNM as Nin/DNC solo - Died doing a sorta dry run but figured it out fast.

    2nd run -

Went in with Evasion setup & no food (but probably helps)
Basically you will never get more agro than 6 Yagudo at the time. Yagudos that try to agro after the 6 will be unable. They will hit for low amounts except the annoying jobs. This is how it works. Keep you shadows up & cure when they're not up. If you're hit with Bio 2 or Paralyze get rid of it fast. If you're low on HP, do a cure first then erase because the timer on erase is pretty long. You'll have 6 Yagudos on you at all times so just get rid of the annoying ones. I targeted Theologist (BLM) first. Aga spells & BIO 2 really suck. Then Priest (WHM) Diaga & Banishga annoying. Finally Heralds. (NIN) cuz Jubaku: Ni sux. Soon you'll only have Votary MNK & Interrogators attacking you which means you're in control. NM should be dropping by now. I enfeebled the NM & just took it easy casting shadows & Cure Waltz. When NM died I had about 7 minutes left. I killed remaining Yagudo with 3 minutes left. Fun fight!

Cyclone method probably easier but forgot my daggers!

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

I'm fairly sure it's possible for more than 6 to aggro at once. In the course of my 8 failures today, I've had at least 10 chasing me down the hall, and oneshotted 5 at a time with earth crusher only to be taken apart by the rest who either weren't close enough or had more hp than the rest for some random reason. Aggro is totally screwey too. The giant horde in the last room kept rushing me at mostly random intervals, especially immediately after I got unweakened. I only got to see the NM briefly, while being beaten to death by 15 of the little ones.

Conclusion: don't try this as a whm without phalanx.

    Re: New Windurst "missions" Guide

    Solo-ed BLM/RDM. RR-ed twice but still good.

lolClaustrum saved my ass. I melee-ed the NM to death when MP was out.

Regular Mobs have ~300 HP each. Blaze Spikes deal at least 40 to them. WHM NM appears to be a regular EP mob with HP of a VT.

The NM won't attack you if you are weakened but will approach once it wears (assuming you popped it before dying).

A ga2 can finish an entire swarm of mobs. So keep casting!

Missionary and Pythoness appear either not to drop this or have a ridiculous rate. After 0/30 on them, i went to the Sam sam BRD camp and went 2/3 with TH1.
Fail, so hard, at making only 5 mobs in the zone drop this.

FFXIwiki only lists inquisitor, zealot and prior. I think I got mine off the blm in the tower closest to the meriphataud zone.
