Bah, other people got to this answer before I could >.>
To answer the second part of Rocl's question - you need an Asphodel every time you use the twinkleporter in the present; the flower gets used up, you get a trippy visual effect, and you wind up on the other side of whatever cliff you're on. They're 100 gil each, so, 100 gil to avoid the pain in the arse of opening the second Banishing Gate, I'm happy. >>
I love SE, btw.
Alright, thank you.
I found some strange ??? that was sparkling with a white and multicolored light as well in Grauberg... I dont remember the exact position, but it was in a deadend cave somewhere near one of the green weverns and a waterfall. I think it was the northmost river portion or the second from top.
Clicking on it said gave the usual you find nothing of interest message. Wonder if its the same as what your talking about?
This is the entrance for the SCH AF3 fight.Originally Posted by Psion
According to Alla, a few other flowers (carnation and amarylis I believe) could also be used. May be worth getting together a little bouquet and seeing what works and what doesn't.
works: lilac, amaryllis, marguerite, carnation, rain lily
doesn't work: red rose
That is because the proper place for a red rose is in someone's Bazaar for max gil.Originally Posted by mackerel
Do you have to interact with the NPCs in the past before being able to use these
warps?
Short Answer: Yes.Originally Posted by Vandalhart
Go to the past and talk to the "Lycopodium" NPC staring at the light for a cutscene. (Engrave the image of your surroundings with the scent of flowers in your mind.)
Go to the spot in the future and trade one of said flowers to the [ ] with the light on it to be teleported up or down. This consumes the flower you traded. There is a [ ] on either side of where you wish to warp.
Just for reference, the exact positions of the three Lycopodiums are:
- Batallias Downs [S] (F-5)[/*:m:1i5rrxx9]
- North Gustaberg [S] (F-9)[/*:m:1i5rrxx9]
- Garlaige Citadel [S] (E-8) (on the map south and west of Banishing Gate #2)[/*:m:1i5rrxx9]
Hope that helps,
Sorry, but I cannot find the spot in the present for Garlaige Citadel - I remember reading someone said it's in Sauromogue Champaign
at the bottom of the cliff - yet I cannot find it...can anyone provide the <pos> ?
Once again, the Garlaige Lycopodium is INSIDE the citadel itself. It is NOT in Sauromogue. It is behind gate 1 at a set of broken steps near gate 2 at E-8. This is not a shortcut up to the Stone Monument/Roc, but it is a shortcut to get past gate 2 when coffer hunting/going to the strange apparatus/finishing quests at the magic incinerator.
You can get behind Gate #3 using the maw near Roc, and from there, teleport behind gate #2 using a flower. Annoying, but more than enough for those occasional solo coffer run.
miss post
Oh, so this whole bullshit just gives me inventory-1 by having to carry a stack of faggy flowers around
FUCK YOU SE
lol
I don't think it's something I would bother to carry around always. It seems handy if you are leveling 1-10 in North Gustaburg, or getting coffers in Eldieme or Garliage which is a pretty isolated occurance.
The way I actually got to this one was to go to G-10 on the second map on this page:Originally Posted by Delenn

The Lycopodium NPC is right at the "C" break in the two maps. I don't know if there's another/a better way to get to it.
