WCW ruined pro wrestling, WWF Hulk Hogan was the greatest man ever to live, that crap in wcw.... just... didn't even happen, seriously.

Big Boss Man, those crazy bald army guys omg so insane, Andre, Undertaker before he supposedly died and came back 40 different times and shit, man, that was pro wrestling.

I'd jump in but really, I just <3 TNA, if only for when Nash is on the mic.

Oh, and seeing Booker T and Kurt Angle really wrestle. Oh, and the X-division. And the fact that the show actually makes me laugh. And that if a storyline sucks, they don't run it for another six months.

i miss when wrestlers got the push, not the guy who works the mike. WWE needs to realize, wrestling before entertainment. i'd rather see val venis, charlie haas, shelton benjamin wrestle more than i would Cena or whoever else theyre shoving down our throats on a weekly basis

Edit: Out of the Personal "ZOMG is this true" file. A kid in my high school class was the nephew of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, and he would always get his Uncle to come to the school and talk about success and life choices (which was a charade by my study skills teacher I think) and he would always bring his "friends" to class i.e. Telly Blanchard, Dusty Rhodes, Jim Cornett, Midnight express, Arn and Ollie Anderson, Jimmy Hart etc... lol. Man those were some cool ass days, Living in North Carolina + Wrestling was was of pure win in those days.

Mind you, they were old and had been retired for a long time but still legends nonetheless.

I recall a few months ago on RAW there was one of those endless segments of McMahon on the mic where he takes twenty or so minutes to remind you that he's a heel and that yes, you're supposed to dislike him. The crowd started chanting "We want wrestling" and I felt kinda proud.

Haven't watched SD in probably a year. Batista, while he looks nice in a suit, is too formulaic, and I think they've pretty much exhausted every conceivable way to get someone on the second rope for the 619. I never liked Mysterio (CAN THE LITTLE GUY WIN OH WELL YES IT TURNS OUT HE CAN!), and then the BF told me to look up his old stuff before he juiced. Its really a shame that he had to inflate 150 lbs and lose everything that made him an awesome wrestler in order to get the push.

RAW made me a sad panda with all the hype of Jericho coming back -- Oh shit! Rivalry with Orton for the belt! I mean.. with.. JBL..? What the fuck! And evidently on Monday he was wrestling for the Intercontinental. Bah.

[edit at Miz' edit:] Dude that's fucking awesome.

WWF was entertaining and all that, but for me it'll never have the joy of being 7-8 years old and watching Big Daddy vs Giant Haystacks on a Saturday lunchtime.

    EAASYY EEASSSYYY!

Ya, none of you know wtf I'm talking about, but I don't care.

Yep, much less razzmatazz than WWF, and the audience was mainly little old ladies, but was so awesome.

As a reference, Giant Haystacks was 6'11" and well over 500lbs

Yeah, it used to be generally popular but by the time I was old enough to watch it, it was dying out. I presume it was simply that the older generation kept watching it, and that with women living longer than men, there were more old ladies around. It means that one of the images that pops into my head is old ladies waving handbags or umbrellas at the bad guys.

WWF jumped the shark when it renamed itself the WWE

Used to watch wwf wcw all the time from the 80's to the late 90's. Hulk Hogan, Big Boss Man, Jake the snake, NWO, etc etc. Then the aging wrestlers died from drug abuse and I grew up...

    Re: "Professional" Wrestling

The last time it really gripped me was the big Mick Foley storylines, his comebacks, working for Linda etc. Some of the lol crap they did they with a supposedly drugged Linda at ring side in a wheelchair. The matches between the big 6 at that point were pretty epic to.

Stone Cold dropping HHH off a crane, in a car into a truck etc. I don't know if it was me or wrestling though, but it seemed like the whole thing slowed down so much and became too obvious and deliberate. When the storylines got crappy I stopped caring. Losing the Rock was the last straw though.

also does anyone remember a really random match with Doink the clown bringing on 4 progressively smaller clones to run out from under the ring and steal a match...?

If it hasn't jumped the shark yet, the $10million payday for Mayweather to fight at mania will do it.

I forgot about the guy that really made me like watching:

First saw him when I was probably like 4, so badass

When he came back though in his crow outfit I didn't like him nearly as much.

    Re: "Professional" Wrestling

I used to be a die hard wrestling fan myself, watched WWF back in the day when it was in it's prime and the coolest thing to watch (late 80's-mid 90's.) Then it started sucking and I hopped on the Nitro bandwagon, low and behold I found myself watching WCW every week and not Raw, went to the Nitro and Thunder shows, hell I went to any show that came through tbh. I've gotta say though my all time favorite was old ECW, I went to every PPV and house show that came to either Chicago area, or Milwaukee.

I met The Franchise Shane Douglas once at a local show that he had been hired to come wrestle for a weekend after ECW years, this was between his time in XPW, and TNA btw. I twas one of the coolest moments of my life, even took a moment to pose for a pic with me. The wrestling out there on tv now is just terrible....with the sole exception of TNA, that's where it's at.

After WWE bought out WCW and ECW, they just haven't been trying....stories suck and characters are even worse...(Really, come on, John Cena?) The golden age of wrestling is long gone but I think TNA can somewhat bring it back, hell, they've been taking people that WWE has not wanted and made them interesting, and actually given them good storylines. I talk about old wrestling all the time at work with a coworker, there was so many good storylines and gimmicks, things that happened....just overall awesome.

Also, Demolition picture = win....Nation of Domination was awesome, but boy did I hate D-Lo Brown at the time lol....though I came to love him over the years, and yes the DX version of the NoD was hilarious!
