Re: So Far: Best 5/Worst 5

Peachfags give her a bad name. She's overlooked because her notable float-cancel and dsmash are gone, but the whole float game remains intact. Really being able to abuse what you can do with her float in combination with her assrape autocancelled aerials (all of them, autocancelled all over the place) really means that float-cancelling, for all intensive purposes, is still in. Sakurai giveth, and Sakurai taketh away. Her options for killing were merely moved around, or adjusted for the whole brawl-dynamic.

I dont know, I dont see good peaches in videos. I see slow players making a big deal about combos on other slow players. Ever since (at least) melee, i've been watching videos (back when you got videos from file transfer over AIM ) and putting myself in them and fighting in the match (lol, dont judge me). Peach's whole punish-game is really great now due to the lack of shield stun, all unsuccessful approaches yield a instafloat BAir (if you land behind, her booty reaches further now than in melee), or, if you land in front, a shieldgrab (to whatever), or a spaced, high-priority FAir (reach out and touch a bitch), depending on their spacing. If you're dumb enough to land right on me, instafloat NAir, or those cute, no-float-necessary, rising NAirs that were so popular in melee.

AND ANOTHER THING! People say she's improved in speed, but still slow. Fk that. Her speed didnt really hinder her performance in melee (she controlled space around her, fast attacks, lots of damage, she just couldnt chase you down with combos --- she didnt need to for the most part, knock you away and edgeguard), and any speed increase she gets is amazing. I just love the way she runs :3 To me, she's grinding those heels going for her kills. <3

Nerfs and general weaknesses that we cant change: FUCK YOU SECOND JUMP OF SHIT. The only thing that really gets me is this. If she's knocked under the stage (most will die) and still has her second jump, you really have to struggle to get back. You have to make it out (towards the underside of the ledge) as far as you can, then shoot up with your parasol and auto-sweetspot. Its not something commonly seen, but damn i hate her second jump They need FFXI-like updates to fix that ( (I've pretty much gotten over the slowness of the parasol-drop, the parasol as a whole is longer [for poking bitches trying to get in your way] and auto-sweetspotting the ledge gets me there safely. Until someone can precisely use the invincibility frames from grasping onto the ledge and dropping to intercept me coming up to grab it, i'm cool with the speed of her parasol-drop.)

Yall got me started Oh well, I hope people keep thinking she's crap, its always fun building a character from the ground up. (I was thinking yesterday how I CREATED PEACH'S FIRST SHIELD-PRESSURE GAME, then I thought I was crazy. But I know i've never seen it before, and I bet Mr. Mike G adopted it after our moneymatch [he was a slap-combo whore that taught me about the pwnage of her double slap AA combo :3] and made it well-known.)

I say again, yall got me started

edit: spelling error. if you see them, its because im typing this before i go to sleep!

Look, I still play Peach some, and I mained her in Melee. But there's still some things I dislike about her. Sure, floating d-airs and then linking them into a u-air or n-air (low percentage) is effective, and glide tosses into jabs or a grab is a nice addition as well, but too many things bother me about her now, which are her big weaknesses. Double jump is fucking ridiculous, n-air doesn't have nearly the same killing power, parasol is a bit worse, her recovery is not distinct anymore because everybody has an easy time recoverying, turnips can't gimp people offstage, and the only way to reliably kill somebody is spacing f-airs, which can be terribly annoying when your opponent knows that's her main option. Up against other characters she just has a much noticeably harder time, and it upsets me that she had to take these kind of changes. It's not even the d-smash change that bothers me, because for the most part it still serves the same purposes I used it for, but everything else is pretty annoying.

I've lost matches to my friend with his parasol knocking me into oblivion...

Re: So Far: Best 5/Worst 5

I really love the NAir and BAir with their 2 hitboxes. The first hit has the most knockback/dmg and you aim to use it for counters. The second hit has less knockback/dmg, and you use it to combo into a (dash/pivot) slap/slap, slap/grab, slap/ftilt, slap/fsmash, slap/dsmash/slap/whatever. I was pissed about the NAir too, trying to abuse it as a killmove like in melee. Its purpose as a counter/edgeguard is still there.

Turnips still do the job to knock people away who try to come back, idk what you're talking about.

To be honest, if all you can really kill with is her brawl FAir, you're doing something wrong. I use it when people are vulnerable off the ledge and i need that reach, or while they've missed an attack and are stuck in lag, or i set it up behind something else (turnip). I had some friends back at college that said about my (melee) peach, that they knew this stuff was coming, but there wasnt anything they could do about it. It really carries over into brawl--focusing on what works, instead of trying to get things to work, hoping they work.

I guess you wont believe me until you see a vid. TO THE VID MACHINE (no i cant make vids by myself or can i? does wii save fights? they'll have items lol)

I'm sticking to my word, f-air is honestly her only reliable killing move. F-smash can be thrown out there but obviously won't always get the job done, instant b-air only seems to kill when they're at an abnormally high %, n-air doesn't really kill but can be used as an edgeguard (although I prefer f-air), u-smash can only be thrown out there if they used a move with insane lag (Ike F-smash or something like that), but is otherwise extremely situational and doesn't really count. I've hit people with turnips offstage and it doesn't get them killed if they hit, partly because of physics and partly because their knockback is less, and this is without considering air dodging. And no, I've seen good Peaches like Dark Peach, so it's not just because there aren't any good Brawl Peach mains that I am looking at all her negatives.

Drk. Peach is a shitty peachfag fanboy (im a fanboy too, and a fag, but im not a shitty peachfag)

He's not good, and please dont think of him so (lol), he was a copycat melee peach follower, who stupidly used UpB and UpSmash instead of more reliable attacks, and called himself a god of those two attacks. If this was melee, and i was marth, and i chose to kill with upB (in a struggling to kill and missing way, not a m2k way where he does it off the ledge and its flashy as all hell, and a secure killshot) and upsmash, and i touted that i was the king of marth's upsmash/upB, i'd be just as retarded as him He doesnt deserve any of the fanboys sucking his cock all the time, he's a shitty peachfag.

without good brawl peach players for him to mimic (then do a bad job, calling it his "randomness" and "creativity") he wont get anywhere in brawl. god i hate Drk. Peach

(i guess im taking this post backwards, but i hate drk. peach)

fsmash kills, and you can combo into it (escapable yes, so it isnt a true IM FUCKING YOU UP WITH THIS FRYPAN combo, but its safe with running back a step, pivot fsmash their shield or attempt at a shield grab [her whole body leans back while pulling out the weapon, then swings forward]. they can roll away from you to escape, or run away. if they roll behind they're hit with the back end of the weapon, as she swings it over her shoulder)

ok, i see what you're saying. yes, she only has a couple moves that will kill outright, but who cares, so does metaknight lol. Knock them off, keep them off. She still edgeguards well with (glide-tossed) turnips, float, and beastly aerials.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I10kchXEHns

please notice the difference between a good peach and a bad peach.

DarkPeach plays Brawl a lot differently from the dittos I've had with him, and from what I've noticed he's gotten pretty good, although he had a significantly harder time once I brought out Toon Link and Ike. He was just one example of a Peach main because I don't really play any Peach mains, since nobody really likes her now. DarkPeach is a pretty annoying and emo little bitch when he loses, though. He was whining just way too much whenever he lost. Anyway, the Metaknight comparison doesn't work because Metaknight has fucking insane priority all over the place, and d-smash/shuttle loop/f-air gimping/n-air are all pretty easy to land. I don't understand why you are so crazy about Peach. The only reason I picked her up in Melee was because she was the most suited for my playstyle, but now that Brawl is out, Toon Link / Game and Watch / Ness are a lot better suited for me. No real character attatchment. Peach has too many disadvantages and changes for me to still have her as my main or consider her really good, and that's what the majority felt like.

    Uhh yes. For sure. Definitely.

After playing Ryoko a lot, the turnips have always been a problem for me. Now you throw in glide tossing in Brawl and the turnips never seem to have lost there punch.

But I'm inclined to agree with Zetah still. I have yet to be killed outside of the following 4 ways with Peach.

    1. F-Air
    2. Fry Pan
    3. Gimped by Turnips
    4. Peach Bomber (In FFA)

So she's definitely not terrible. Middle tier or lower high tier for sure. But she's definitely not her melee counter part. I couldn't do ANYTHING against a good Peach lock down :/

    Zetah:

I guess I'm crazy about peach. Crazy when people think she's good, crazy when they think she's bad. I'm really crazy mostly about her float, its just a vicious tool nobody else has access to, and my FC's are really on point. I'm just really aggressive with it, at the same time being a complete campy whore the second im not in your face. These things about peach remain the same, despite the influx of what seems to be good characters. People just assume she's bad because they nerfed things about her that made her popular and easy to pick up, when in fact she's really just stayed more or less the same, with a few noticeable buffs, and nerfs.

Whenever i play my my secondary, pikachu, i just hate the fact that my options for mobility are limited without a float. he's good, and different, i just feel wrong without the float, and i feel like the absolute control i have with peach's float just isnt there with pikachu. i guess its the whole mindgame aspect i feel so obvious not being able to instantly adjust the height/trajectory of all my aerials according to the situation at hand. i just cant be separated from the float without feeling like im flinging my character all over the place (even though formal float-cancelling is no longer in, my hands still do it, and i abuse the hell out of everything the float can offer)

    Tsutsumiko:

I fought ryokoyaksa last spring in melee (it doesnt seem that long ago) and we went about 50/50. He is such an uptilt whore.

The kill methods you listed really doesnt tell me much, but i mentioned before that you can basically counter/combo into her killing options, so she doesnt have a problem there.

If you think Pikachu has limited mobility, then you clearly haven't gotten a taste of QACing yet. Lots of insane things he can do with it, including zooming right into somebody with a n-air, using it as a form of movement, going past somebody and u-airing or u-tilting, simply using d-air (although only 4% since only the 2nd part of the attack comes out, but same knockback), retreating and immediately thunderjolting, or zooming and using thunder, which can truly surprise somebody at times. Really cool stuff.

Also, after changing my L button to attack, I can FINALLY motor slide consistently and holy shit, Snake is so fun now. He's just way too broken. Can anybody explain the logic behind his up-tilt? lol.

i like QAC, but its not a float. Its not something i've basically trained/fought with for the last 6-7? years to the point of utter mastery. QAC to me is like fox's shine back in melee, it just looks like another uphill battle to really abuse (i didnt really have a 2nd character in melee, i fiddled with sheik and marth [sheik better than marth for me])

    *mortar slide

his uptilt is broken as shit, thank god its not ass-fast, that wouldnt be fair if it was lightning fast and rocked as all hell dmg that it does now.

i'm honestly more afraid of metaknight than i am snake, im not afraid of bombs, i am la terrorista! (inside joke about a certain dark-skinned woman carrying a bomb, LA TERRORISTA!)

Actually, u-tilt is pretty fast, and is really, really bad for Peach's floatyness lol. Can KO her with it at like 95-100%.

If i can survive marth's melee uptilt, i can certainly survive snake's brawl (SLOWER) uptilt Speed, my dear, sweet Zetah. Speed <3

I really don't think you're making much sense. First off, this is Brawl, and you keep referencing Melee. Secondly, Marth's u-tilt doesn't kill like Snake's does. Third, it has more range than Marth's u-tilt, both vertically and horizontally (hell, Snake's u-tilt has the range of Marth's F-TILT). Fourth, Marth's U-smash is more useful than his u-tilt in Brawl (received a huge buff in general). Fifth, I just hit a tipper u-tilt in Brawl at 100% on Peach and it didn't kill her. Sixth, I just did frame comparisons and they both come out at practically the same time (they both hit almost right when the attack is used). Basically, Snake's u-tilt > Marth's u-tilt in every single way and you keep thinking of Marth juggling with it in Melee or something.

And um, I don't get the Dark Peach thing. I've only played him for like two sessions. o_0 He's not my Brawl buddy like Rykoshet, Thulius, or my best friend irl. Only played him because he lives on east coast.

    1) I reference melee because i'm making comparisons? I tell you that peach is essentially unchanged in a large portion of her ability, showing that something i could do in melee agaisnt the killmove of a top contender still applies to a top contender in brawl, with a slower attack.

    2) Marth's up tilt does kill in melee.

    3) I never spoke of the range of the attack, because it doesnt matter how far an attack reaches if its cut short by a faster attack.

    4) I never spoke of marth's brawl attacks.

    5) See above.

    6) See above. (and you have frame dataz? where? )

Marth doesnt juggle with it in melee (not peach anyway, space animals are a different story), its one of his few GTFO close range moves in melee, along with the reverse upB.

I have the game, so I'm able to test these things out, and Snake's u-tilt does come out at the same time as Marth's u-tilt. The time it takes for Marth to arc his sword in front of his body is the same as Snake's invisible hitboxes that extend WAY further than Marth's u-tilt could ever hope for. Messing with Snake & Peach in training mode right now, Snake's u-tilt and Peach's jabs have identical horizontal range and speed, the only difference being that Peach can get 2 1/2 sets of jabs out in 2 seconds and Snake can get 2 u-tilts in in 2 seconds. So, hers is not that much faster, which means it's really only a matter of who executes the attack first, and not so much a matter of Peach stopping Snake with the jab every single time.

And peach will always execute her attack first.

peach's approaches are autocancelled aerials (behind turnips) into slaps, theres no lag (think multiple hits from one of metaknight's FAirs).

snake cannot get attempt to hit peach during this string of attacks without getting hit and stunned, leaving him open. Brawl's minor shieldstun is enough to immobilize him (or anyone) until the slaps come out.

I would be very interested in seeing an aggressive snake approaching with autocancelled aerials into his uptilt without being grabbed or hit between his attacks, because I just dont see this as being possible (ITS TOO SLOW )

We're gonna argue forever, and i bet i'll call you Metah before this is done with

Snake doesn't really approach with autocanceled aerials, he has other approach methods. Mortar sliding, A-A-A combo, f-tilt, grenades, A-A-A combo into d-tilt, f-tilt into A-A-A combo, grenade countering, or full hop n-air are generally his best options (vacuumish property), with some clever grabbing/throwing mixed into the mortar/C4/Claymore, or simply tech chasing with d-throw. Also you make it seem like I made it out that u-tilt is his fastest attack, completely ignoring Snake's A-A-A combo and f-tilt that are on-par with the speed, and the mortar that goes through the jabs.

And arguing is fine until it resorts to mindless namecalling (i.e. faggot, dipshit, dumbass, idiot, genius, etc.), so we're good. I'm not arguing just for the sake of arguing like a lot of people on these forums; Snake clearly has an edge over Peach, whether you choose to believe it or not.
