Yea absolutely, he plays way different. His specials are pretty similar, but just different enough, and his normal melee stuff is all his own.

NOT CONFORMING TO GROUPS OF 5!

I've been using peach in brawl, and my little brother uses zelda. a whorey, whorey zelda. he chases items and chucks anything and everything he finds, and refuses to play with items off (fuck that.) All he does is run away, and uses the overB din's fire (and if you havent fought zelda, the effective range of it far exceeds the animation, imagine the size of 4 bowsers in a kind of 88 formation [fucking huge]). If i can manage to get in, he shields, and dsmashes or upsmashes, then runs away and spams din's fire until more items appear. its whorey and effective. So, to piss him off, i changed to lucas, and started absorbing his spammage. Come to find out, lucas is pretty nifty (not as wonderful as peach, but with items on and fighting zelda, he's pretty good.) His upsmash, although laggy as shit, is ridiculous if you can find an opening for it (ohi recovering zelda on a platform)

Din's fire starts becoming easy as hell to spot dodge or block after seeing it for the 8000th time the range used to get me too when I'd try to roll away from it then I realized the explosion time is the same every time.

if im not doing anything im cool, just dodge when the traveling sound (the wind-sound) disappears, just before the explosion.

what makes me mad is the times were i'm picking up and item, or just almost landing, and he ends it early (in the invisible blast range) and pops me a good one. You can try to air dodge, but being unable to manipulate the dodge's direction means you hit the ground, negating the invincibility frames---and you get popped. I've found that you can attack it, negating damage, but i havent perfected that skill yet loooooool.

just that whole campy "im not fighting you, im playing with items and playing keep away" just a bitch way to play. and the items wouldnt be an issue if he took off health items and other ridiculous items, but he refuses, and heals himself as he throws quad-bowser-sized explosions of hate and dewm. god i love killing zelda PRINCESS FIGHT!

Always been on top of the fast chars, as one can clearly see lol (Sonic, Falco and Fox XD) Can't really play slower chars effectively, cept Kirby since I can't seem to get him down for some odd reason. Pretty much a monster with Sonic and Falco XD and Olimar just hurts.

Sonic is pretty hawt sauce if you know how to use him. Toon Link is fun too.

Have you ever seen someone use his DownB successfully? I've used it like once in a match and it sucked lol...

I use it to gimp lateral returns, it's a nice rushdown stuffer too.

I like playing characters no one uses but since the game is still "new" it is difficult to do such a thing. For now, I play with Random and characters that seem fun (and hopefully underplayed)

No specific order...

My best 5:

-Toon Link (was hoping I was the only one since I liked Young Link in Melee... His fighting style reminds me of a character from my novel)
-Ness (no one played him in Melee much and I loved Mother 2, both added together made it worth it)
-Lucas (similar comment to Toon Link, oh well)
-Wario (funny as hell to play with and even funnier that I am improving with him. Glad he is underplayed so I can justify using him)
-Ganondorf (the anti-Ike against 4 way FFA {f#*k all you Ike users in FFA 4 way -_-}. That and I always liked how you can win by just being patient with him. Sucks you can't use his sword still /sigh)


What I'm PRACTICING to do well with...

-Snake (great potential there, can see little people having patience to master him. Just like an earlier poster said it is like Chess to play him)
-King Dedede (IGN said he was bad, I like using characters people don't use when I can help it. Plus, it's King freaking Dedede! Enough said!)
-Zelda {NO SHEIK} ( <3 the costume and FS animation, plus its a princess that has been constantly getting kidnapped now kicking @$$)
-The Mario Bros (Nostalgia gets to me, they were there for me when I was a child so I owe it to them. Plus, they are underplayed around here so another reason for them <3 )


BELOW 3 (mostly Rant, not talking badly of their ability)

-Ike (enough is enough! I am sick of seeing Ike EVERYWHERE and the rest that are to be listed. Get some freaking originality and skill if you use this bastard 4 way FFA and all smash moves. Enjoyed the oppritunity I got with facing these people online 1vs1 when no one else joined unrealizing how to play without just Smash and Up+A)
-Marth (overplayed in every tournment I went to in Melee, more originality please)
-Sheik (feels like these users went to Ike now. One problem after another. Least Ike is slower)

Normally I'd mention the "spacies" but I haven't seen them much yet.



Why the hate on Yoshi? I have seen good players use him even in Brawl. Here is a few from online:

Jigglypuff was a mack in the cube version and he still is, and no it's not about the "sleep" move. Ike is pretty solid as well. I think they nerfed Falco to a certain degree, smash forward is pretty lame now imo.
