I can see its usefullness as an alarm thing, but there should at least be an option to turn it off. I actually see no reason whatsoever for them to even have touched the battle-music. It was fine as it was. I dont recall ever hear a mage complain because they didnt hear battle-music. Not sure why they tried to fix what wasnt broken to begin with.
SE is dumb as hell, they obviously didn't test this shit before they made the decision to release it. The battle music/game music in general gets OLD after you hear it loop for the 50th time. Why the hell would I want to hear it even MORE frequently, regardless of the situation? Like someone said earlier, it doesn't even turn on if you get aggro lol Since when is aggro considered not important enough for mages to get a que like this update was aimed at??
Also, If my mages are falling asleep in a merit PT, then I know for a fact some annoying bullshit battle score isn't going to make them play any longer than previously. Here's a hint: They're falling asleep because mage jobs are mundane and require more work than DD jobs, not because they don't get to listen to the "intense" battle music.
Simple fix: Add option to turn off. Make placeholder for battle music to continue at, just like zone music does. Fade Intro/Outro for more "natural" flow AND scale volume level with mob distance(asking for too much there). Add to PT/ally aggro.
I know this is hard stuff to ask from SE's devs, so I'm gonna take my wine and have some cheese with it. Personally, I usually play with no sound or just sfx and play my own soundtrack :D

"Fuck, I'm sorry guys, you were taking way too long and the battle music was just driving me fuckin bananaaaaas!"
P.S. wtf is that character from? that thing is fruity as hell
Chopper from one piece
i did try CFH @ sky cuz so bored from hunting diorites, music stopped
if you dont like ffxi music and dont wanna use another program. just swap music files. its a simple process just takes time. i got ffx, 7,SoM,CT music for battle music. so the new patch doesnt bother me as much.

Whether you think PS2 version sucks or not, there are plenty of people playing on PS2, and changing music files is not an option for them to fix this problem.
It does get annoying but one thing I do like is, if you sleep a mob and run you can tell when it wakes upa and goes after you. if the music starts you know it's close by can you can prepare for another bind/sleep then run the fuck away!
True. I was running Saving Private Ryaaf yesterday and I could tell when the chigoes I'd slept were closing due to the music change.Originally Posted by Fadian of Fairy
