Has anyone tried to skillchain in a merit party to see the potential SC bonus on high level mobs? LOL I know from some people but if the damage is shown to be significant, this could be :bagel:

Gives Puks even more HP on detonations!
If only everything acted like Qutrub.... >.>
If only Qutrub didn't have a billion HP.
....or gave bonus exp like all the other 'big' monsters in the game stacked on top of sanction effects. (like manticores, hippogryphs, wyverns, phuabos)
I thought they reduced the resistance to skillchains, but after exp last night I don't really know anymore.
First indication of it being changed was an assault shortly after the update where a lolscission skillchain on a EM-T troll mirrored exactly for like 1.3k damage, which is pretty insane for a level 1 skillchain. I was pleasantly surprised.
But last night partying in Mount Zhayolm at level 67 on crawlers, fragmentation was doing it's usual resist (never mirrored once the whole two hours, and for 1k damage averaged like 300-400, with the odd 50 here and there). BLM (yes a BLM in exp party omg!) was MBing thunder III for 770-830, I don't know if that's good or not. We had a SCH though helping the BLM out. One good thing that came out of that party was that SCH is a better healer than WHM now! The whole night the SCH's MP never went below 300. It was crazy longevity along the lines of a RDM, and we had a PLD tank using DD gear too.
Sublimation was leet sauce.
So level 1s mirror for full damage now... or well have the capability. That sounds good but it seems that they lifted the cap on SC level damage but resists are still pretty frequent.
i was on my totally gimp 73 rng(mule) the other day on lower camp nyzul isle birds.
my sidewinders were doing 700+ but less than 800.(no food).
i'd do arching arrow after the drk did cross reaper for 500+ with fusion or something for a consistant 300+
i missed a lot less AA than i did SWs.
this will probably depend heavily on mobs own resistances maybe, but atleast in this case, if i had the tp to SC, my dmg was better than my zerg ws option.
should be tested with lolAssaultWeapons
From my minimal experience on Ashu Talif and Nyzul mobs, I rarely saw the low end of SC damage on the non-archaic mobs. I was getting decent SC effect on the HNM bosses in Nyzul.
Black Bart just fucking blew up after a Y>G>K meikyo, while before it'd leave 20-30% of his HP after a light due to SC resists.
I'd mention Campaign mobs, but IIRC they have fairly low SC resistance to begin with.
On Sam in Dyna Glacier the other day i really noticed this it was crazy i didnt get one resist did hlaf dmg on every lvl 1 chain and full dmg on all lvl3 even light was full dmg on darks day with double dark weather. As a sam i love this update.
I was hoping to get some info on 6-step Light/Dark on Nyzul bosses with our SAMx2 setup, but unfortunately one of our SAMs fails at using the correct WS' in the correct sequence lol...in his defense he's only been 75 about 4 days so he'll pick it up, but on the big mobs really I didn't notice anything special, SCs still were pretty heavily resisted, and my SAM friend said in merits he was still getting tons of resists on Colibris as well.
Wouldn't surprise me if SE specifically gave colibri high resist to SC, to prevent them from being even easier. They probably went through and lowered the resist on most other mob types.Originally Posted by Callisto

Yesterday in meripo on SAM, I was finishing fusions and fragmentations for 3/4ths the dmg of my ws constantly.
Later that night I was closing light with Cannonball for 1600~'s in sea and it was mirror damage at least 80% of the time. No tests on higher NM yet though.
Isn't this the third time they've attempted to 'boost' or 'fix' SC damage? All times before it ended up being completely unnoticeable iirc.
I'm reluctant to believe they got it right this time, although one can hope! But, so far I haven't really noticed much. It'll probably be easier to tell after tonight's salvage, since gears were always rather resistant.
Your avatar intrigues me... :bagel:

Pretty sure Colibri have innate MDB, so that could account for it too. Even if it doesn't resist, the damage is still gonna be reduced on them.Originally Posted by Kenji

Skillchain damage is not affected by MDB, and colibri do take full SC damage when unresisted.Originally Posted by Harutaru
