    Is the 360 version region-locked?

    I've been away from the game for a long time, and I'm interested in coming back. I used to play on a PS2, but I've sold that. I've got a NA 360, though, and I'd like to be able to type in Japanese, so I'm wondering if the JP 360 version of the game would be playable.

    Whether 360 games are region-locked or not is the publisher's decision, so it's different game by game. Knowing SE, it probably is locked, but if not, I'd like to know.

    well, i can tell you first-hand that you'll be pleasantly surprised switching from ps2 to 360 graphically (i certainly was). i went back to ps2 for a few weeks when my xbox died and the game looked -awful- comparatively.

    as far as region-lock, idk ; ;

    Speaking of that, can someone with both an xbox360 and ps2 post screenshots from a same viewpoint of something. I'm curious on the actualy graphical differences.

    Dont know how correct this table is but it would appear that it is region locked if I am reading it right

    Edit: According to the one reply in this thread it is region locked

    could no register my EU WOTG 360 CDkey on my account that was made with NA client on intial release.

    tried SEs chat support, and they said it was cause i was trying to register a EU CDkey on a NA account.

    The CDKeys are atleast region-locked, no idea about the actual gamedisc.

    The console is region locked, but the game is not.

    As someone already said, 360 games region locking is Dependant on the publisher, but if you don't already own a 360 copy of XI you might as well just get one from your region. I would suggest the 2008 collection if you already have a WoG registered.

    I'm not sure what you mean by that. That POL is region-locked, but FFXI is not? I've heard something like that before. Either way, if the JP POL is region-locked, then I wouldn't be able to install it on my NA 360. This blows.

    Thanks for the info, guys. Maybe I'll just pick up the NA 360 collection.

    It's just like Apelila said--the 360 itself is coded to a specific region (NA, Asia, Europe, etc.), however it's up to the publishers themselves to decide whether they'll lock their games to a specific region, or if the game can play on any 360.

    Re: Is the 360 version region-locked?

    Shorter answer: its possible to log into POL regardless of what 'region' you bought it in. 360, PC, PS2, NA EU JP it doesn't give 2 shits as long as its a valid POL ID. The only thing thats region locked in the playonline client are the language and the billing information.

    The console itself however is going to need a disc to even boot POL. If you don't already have a 360 copy of XI, just buy an NA copy if you have an NA 360. Any
