I'm annoyed that Northern Ireland is still under British control, gtfo Britain. You gave Bejing back to China, you returned official ownership to the countries in the middle east of the land you once owned, could be wrong here but I think they finally gave India back it's own land....why not do the same for Ireland?
More so, to that post though, what is it about that, that annoys you Shen? That England doesn't give it's own people a day off to celebrate their patron saint, but they allow people living in another country to take a day off to celebrate their own saint and heritage? Is this an implication that Patrick is viewed higher than George by some?
I am not too clear as to why people living in Ireland getting a national holiday off, bothers people that live in England that don't get a holiday off for their equivilant in saint. That to me would be like saying people in Canada should get a national day off work because people in America are celebrating Memorial Day, or one of our holidays....that holds relevence to us.
Or better yet, Puerto Rico is a subsidary of the US, we don't rule them....they have their own laws and holidays. Should Americans get the same days off that Puerto Rico does? Not until they officially become a part of the union....but then they would be adapting to our schedule of holidays. I'm honestly curious on the view on this, not trying to start something, just tossing out examples that came to my mind.
