KARACHI: Nine vehicles were torched and over half-a-dozen people reportedly sustained bullet wounds during the strike called by the Sunni Tehreek (ST) for Friday. Meanwhile, the police have reportedly taken over a dozen ST workers in custody since Thursday night and the ST has claimed that the arrests were because its workers were just trying to create awareness among people by distributing leaflets, etc.

Nearly 15 people, including two ST workers, sustained bullet injuries because of aerial firing in separate parts of the city. The injured include Saleem, 30, (New Karachi), Shahrukh Khan, 18, (Shafiq Mor), Yawer, 42, (Korangi), Sajjad, 10, (Soldier Bazaar), Kauser Khan (Gulistan-e-Johar), Ghulam Hussain (Risala), Manzur (Saeedabad), Sakina and Mateen (Orangi Town), Atiq (Ranchore Lane), Ali Gohar, Yousuf, an unidentified person (North Karachi) and two ST workers, Saqib and Muslim Qadri, from Shah Faisal Colony and Taimoria respectively.
Aren't the cartoons being printed in Denmark?

ah lol @ people who don't know the simplest ideas of Islam.

not that not knowing about religion is bad, in fact, I think you are better off, but still, at least if your gonna argue somethings, like, at least know something about it.

Some protips for people who want to continue this debate.

Protip: Mohammad was actually a person, who lead armies, and wrote a book. Jesus? Not so much. Evidence that jesus even existed is hotly criticized.

Protip: Koran doesn't actually say you can't draw Mohammed. The information is coming from Bukhari (oral collection of witnesses from Mohammed's days) that says Angels won't enter a house that has pictures of people/animals or homes that have dogs. or something...
Not all Muslims actually follow this rule.

    ok, continue with the debates.

    you're late guartz..
Protip: Islam believes in Jesus' existence as much as Muhammed's existence.

Protip: Muhammed is a man who led armies? Muhammed and Jesus in Islam are Prophets; messengers of God. Muhammed's purpose wasn't to lead armies or fight wars

Firas have you ever thought about the fact that your boycott may be hurting innocent danish folk? How is it fair to them, they didn't have a choice about reprinting any of those cartoons, awesome logic right there.

Did Muhammed not lead an army that eventually conquered Mecca? I'm not questioning the belief that Muhammed is considered a prophet but seriously are you going to deny that a part of Muhammed's life was spent leading others into war?

Actually, there was no bloodshed in the "conquest" of Mecca. The Meccans surrendered, and unlike Arab custom of the time (to basically say f that and attack people, much has changed in 14 centuries), he declared that there would be no bloodshed, and even gave amnesty to his rival general (Abu Sufyan)

    Firas' argument:
Because the PM of Denmark wore a shirt with the cartoon in support of free speech, the whole country should suffer and not just the newspaper. PM believes in freedom of speech = LET THE POOR SUFFER

I would say what is wrong with this (excluding the first sentence, the Koran does not prohibit the images), but because of the direction the thread has taken (and who this came from) I believe I would be wasting my time.

the way you read & understand things is just incredible.
Someone pointed out that its not the PM of Denmark, then i said it was the Italian PM who wore the T-shirt.
jeez, its in my hands that the "poor" will suffer? you make it sound im invading Iraq and killing all the innocent Iraqi civilians and causing a civil war between 2 sides in that country..
My part in making the "poor" suffer is pretty small, im just not going to buy small little dairy products that comes from that country. I dont have major, million dollar deals with denmark, nor am i involved in investments in that country. Instead of buying Puk white cheese, and Lurpak butter. I'm going to buy Al Mara'i white cheese, and Naadik butter. why is that so evil in your eyes? ;; i have the right to choose my cheese gdi, even if those cartoons got something to do with it.

Tacitus (A.D. c.55-A.D. c.117, Roman historian) mentions "Christus" who is Jesus - Annals 15.44
"Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular."

In honor of the 'ill eat 2 burgers for every burger you don't eat' thing to counter vegetarians. I say that everyone who supports Denmark make a effort to buy more of their products. I really won't though as I don't care enough but it would be funny.

Firas would have to steal denmark products, sell them on the black market, and use that money to fund terrorism in order to 1 up you.

Some people have suggested that this passage could be a later addition by Christian scribes.[4] No early Christian writers refer to Tacitus even when discussing the subject of Nero and Christian persecution, although this is an argument from silence. Tertullian, Lactantius, Sulpicius Severus, Eusebius and Augustine of Hippo make no reference to Tacitus when discussing Christian persecution by Nero.[5] Sulpicius Severus repeats the passage nearly verbatum without crediting Tacitus in Chronica, but it is unknown whether Severus borrowed from Tacitus, whether a Christian scribe inserted Severus into Tacitus or whether a third source was involved. The passage also mistakenly calls Pontius Pilate a procurator instead of a prefect, a mistake also made in a passage by Josephus.[6] This mistake, while possibly showing a common editor of Tacitus and Josphus could also be Tacitus using Josephus as a source or both of them using a common source.

Also worth noting Tacitus has not met Christ, this account is entirely hearsay("I heard X from Y about Z), and he's saying it 22years after he's dead.

If Christ was not a real person than there was obviously a conspiracy among the originators of the faith to make him seem to be one. So accounts like these neither deny nor prove anything when there was (potentially) active disinformation about the subject.
