you realize the reaction to the cartoon is giving it truth right? muslims exploded over seeing it, so its a fairly safe bet to say that the religion will blow up on anyone it see's fit. you can complain about it all you like but the reaction to it was one of terrorism, meaning inciting terror in the people who drew it and displayed it. they choose not to give in and now they have threats on them as well as the country. do you not see it? you cant just throw out threats and ultimatums because something pisses you off. an emotional outburst is one that shows the least intelligence, maybe trying a different route will get a more favorable result.

if you kill people and demand never to show something, people are going to show it irregardless. if you intelligently discuss and go through other channels you gain world wide support and have a larger chance of getting your way. unfortunately i think the culture is soo used to quick reactionary outbursts that its going to be very hard.

you really need leaders who have large voices, which attempt to calm these outbursts before they happen. its the evolution of culture and society really, emotive outbursts reign until they are slowly phased out. every religion has a small portion of its members that do this, that number has been lowered over time. islam is the same way and over the next generations will most likely calm down on the "wtf? zergggggggg" side.
