    PS3 game file corruption....

Did a quick search, didn't see anything about this.

Basically my PS3 (maybe 4-5 months old) works fine in most situations. However, any time I save game data (not save files) onto the hard drive to make loads shorter, the data that it writes is always corrupted. This doesn't happen with data downloaded, games patch fine, and I have Tekken 5 DR: online, and never had a problem with it. It's a problem I first noticed with Ninja Gaiden Sigma, the cutscenes would freeze the game when it was on the harddrive, but when I erased the game, it worked fine.

Anyone else encounter this before, and if so, what was the solution?

(I can't even play DMC4! Game autosaves to the HDD!)

never heard of that happening before, weird. personally id backup your save files and factory reset the ps3 (there is an option to do this). Reload all your save files and media files and hopefully that works. If it doesn't, maybe try taking out the hard drive and finding a way to reformat it (with a laptop?), maybe the hdd has bad sectors. Either way if it gets complicated it should be covered under the warranty it comes with btw.

idk jack about the ps3 but I would assume taking out the hdd and trying to reformat with a comp may void the guarantee, although I may be wrong since Idk.
