do people really think that SCH is that awsome now? people act like it's broken. SCH still lacks haste and stoneskin(on it's own) so I personally don't see it as that powerful of a job on it's own.Originally Posted by Gaea
this update was good for SCH, but it in no way put sch on some "unimaginable" level of amazingness.
I dont think they would have 2000+ people logged in on Atomos to test lag/stress issues.Originally Posted by Tricen
They're probably just going to fix the way the Flame holder increases Magic Mortar damage exponentially. :/
Wait, you think they'd fix PUP that fast?
What gives you that idea? No one plays Puppetmaster.
They also need to fix <pettp> already. It's getting shitty annoying when I don't know how much tp my Auto has.
Oh, and if they 'nerf' Magic Mortar I'm so going to be angry. >_>
SCH offers much more than the 1 trick pony also known as haste. It truly is a great job now worthy of it's slot in any party it joins.Originally Posted by Vail
SCH/RDM is now capable of main healing , supporting, or all out DDing. It's now exactly as they advertized it, a tactical mage that can switch between black or white on the fly, and slide themselves into any situation they are called for.
The reason I personally think it's not getting stoneskin / blink is they want to force it to sub a mage job instead of getting all that they currently and utsusemi on top. I still think they should add SS though so BLMs can use SCH as a decent SJ that retains everything they need and then max survivability on top.
At first after the patch I was annoyed they still didn't get haste, but after playing and seeing all the other changes I'm more than satisfied with it. I wouldn't mind haste, but I don't care anymore at this point, Melees already have RDM WHM and SMN to pick from if they need haste.
I think SE does a pretty damn good job with this game overall and everyone that bitches about every little thing, sure is still playing the gameso it sure as hell cant be that bad. Sure SE has their fuck up moments and stupid decisions etc etc, but think about overall how far this game has come along. And i bet if any of you were doing their job you couldn't do it half as good. They release one hell of update, yes there are going to be problems... always, in every game... thats how it is. They cannot test and every aspect of every different situation in the game themselves, and if they did, server would be down for days not hours. So consider yourselves privileged that you get to log on a lot faster then they could make it, and find the problems and glitches your selfs. Eh i like little short maintenances, just means more NM's and more money.
Id just love to hear people bitch when "Emergency Maintenance - 40 hours."
Not trying to troll or anything but FFXI could really benefit from a patch test realm.. amongst many other things.
How long does it take for automaton to get 300TP? I don't think PUP is overpowered at all, It's just like BLU, they only do big dmg every 3-5 minutes![]()
The scythe is still lagging behind since the update. But don't worry, I'm sure it will catch up to use over here soon....Originally Posted by Rocl
I just hope they fix the zoning issue people on Lakshmi are having (I don't know if it is all worlds). 3-4 mins stuck in the zone screen and having to crash the game to get out of it ( can target people, talk in chat, open menus etc but the screen is black, no images at all except chat log).
Hm, I don't think this is Lakshmi only, one of my friends had this issue today, and I too hope it gets fixed.Originally Posted by Alibeemac

Like that other guy said, and I posted a year ago or so (and I'm sure others have mentioned), SE would benefit greatly from opening up the test server to a handful of players from each server. There's really no good reason to not do this. Plenty of other games leverage players as part of their QA to ensure that the final build of an update/expansion is as bug free as it can be. Incorporating people who play the game without any bias (meaning they don't work for SE) is an excellent way of getting good feedback on design as well as squeezing out some bugs. Apparently SE would rather release with glaringly obvious issues that should and would have been caught if real players were hammering on a beta build on Atomos. Typical SE being cryptic and secretive, and in the end their customers lose because of it. I've no idea why the hell they think it's OK to get feedback on changes from builds that are live, as opposed to getting it before the general public has to beta test it for them.
Isn't that a Japanese thing? I thought games with open betas of things like patches (and other non-secretive game practices) was a North American thing. Could be wrong of course, can't really think of many other games. Just seems like a Japanese culture issue to me, despite how smart it would be.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads

Entirely possible, and it wouldn't surprise me. Just seems silly to try and spring lots of wonderful changes to a game on people, and drag a big basket of "wtf?!" to dump on them at the same time.Originally Posted by Wizerd

Having never played City of Heros I cannot explain this in complete details. But I know they have an open test server that freely lets you copy a character from any server into it, characters copied into the test server cannot be moved away from the test server.
As such this allows direct player feedback on adjustments and the like throughout the complete development phase. Players thereby can have a direct impact on the direction the game mechanics flow. I know this will probably never happen as SE seems reluctant to the ideas of the player community.
