Swapping past nations

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, a search returned a lot of useless crap.

If you swap nations in the past, what are the penalties? Does it nuke your allied notes and rank? I just saw the new Sandy Rare/Ex stuff and by god that would be swell for my PLD. (since i don't do kings and / or a Baha2 runs). But if I have to start over again screw it, i'll stick with my Nazi(homam) head.

I asked some LS people this the other day when I saw the new PLD items. I was told you lose 2 ranks (like 2 emblems, 2 stars whatever.. but not like emblem down to ribbon) and you lose 3000 AN.

Not sure if thats 100% correct cause I didn't test it. So take it for what its worth.

Lose nothing when switching to a new nation. Lose 2 S ranks and 300 AN when you switch back to a previous (original only?) nation afaik.

I swapped to Sandy from Windy for Iron Ram Sallet and didn't lose anything.

That would be fantastic. I'd be willing to lose 2 ranks to come back. I thought I was going to lose 4 ranks total and 6k AN. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, I can confirm. Swapped from Bastok to Sandy the other day for this exact reason. I didn't lose any medals or AN and in fact had the deadline for the expiration of the medal extended by another 30 days (I think that medal itself wasn't even reset, because I was able to rank up to the third Emblem medal after just a few Campaigns this morning).

Folks on my LS said it was 300 AN, not 3,000. I've not made a switch personally, so I can't say for certain.

If you actually take a second to talk to the npc I'm pretty sure it outright tells you.

I can also confirm; changing back to a nation requires losing your two highest medals and 300 AN.

I did it to complete all the campaign starter quests.

Curious, Slightly stupid question but when you switch does your Campaign Op data remain in your missions log or do you lose that?

Campaign Ops are not erased from your log.

My Campaign Ops log looks like this because I switched nations a couple of times:

Stock and Awe I (B)
Streetsweeper I (B)
Stock and Awe I (S)
Aegis Scream I (S)
Stock and Awe I (W)
Stock and Awe II (W)
Stock and Awe III (W)
Aegis Scream I (W)
Delta Strike I(W)

Actually I have done way way more Ops than that, but I think that gives you an idea of what happens to your log when you change nations.
