New Campaign Trick [ Free Avatars and Spirits ]

Just a quick fyi guys:

When using a Black Mine which can be obtained from a campaign C.C. for 30 Allied Notes, it lowers the mana cost of avatars drastically. I had a free Garuda out an entire campaign battle and still managed to have a 1mp tick. Wasn't sure if it was a glitch the first time I tried it, but luckily I got the same results on three separate occasions.

Note: First I summoned my garuda. Then I talked to the representative and obtained the Black Mine. Then I used the item (with my garuda still summoned).

Note: If you desummon your avatar, this buff does not last. You must repurchase a Black Mine.

Sounds kinda like a glitch, i looked up black mine and its just a Goblin Mine o_o
I'll have to try it, would be nice to have free Fenrir or Leviathan running around.

But i use Carbuncle most often cause hes free even when using my Carbuncle's Pole...

Yeah I assume it will get fixed at some point, but at least I can experience a free garuda for some hour long campaigns!

Would be nice to use Elemental Spirits too, sic em on Forts and dont have to worry about them until its over

Spirits are also affected. Am using a free Light Spirit atm.

I thought you couldn't give spirits any commands and they'd only aggro stuff that hit you first. Did something change in the last few months?

You can send in spirits to attack and call them back. You just can't give them spell commands,etc. The light spirit though is the only one that doesn't need to be engaged in combat to use buffs/cures/haste/regen.

you're thinking of the brd song virelai. in that case, yes. you have diddlyshit for control over your pet. spirits you have full control over sans blood pacts, which are avatar onry.
