We had to wear skirts at the one uniform school I went to. And I got suspended for a day for wearing slacks because I hated said skirts.

At my school, private catholic, we had a strict dress and grooming code. Depending on day, it varied from shirt + tie + slacks to polo + khakis. Girls were restricted to knee length skirts or slacks. Enforcement was strict. Detention and then suspension for violations like untucked skirts or long undershirts.


Uniform didn't really make a difference. Everyone still found some way to personalize their clothing, whether they got pants tapered or skirts hemmed. There's lots of bs about uniform making the playing field equal for everyone in school, no haves and have nots but everyone knew who was a baller and who wasn't. They just made it easier for the school to present a good image to donors/accreditation boards.
