Re: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

FF13 will be like 12, only more automatic it seems. >.> I'm thinking, Lost Odyssey's battle system in real time (you choose the action ahead of time, and then you see it play out)... it could be pretty damn sweet actually.

Anyways, enough derailing. /rerail I just played missions for like 3 hours and only got about 3% completion heh... The Yuffie sidequests are annoying as hell.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

I beat the game last night (couldnt sleep so I busted psp out), and the ending was kind of sad. I saw something to its nature coming, but I didn't know how. Very good game, 8/10, the game got pretty addictive once I got to Nibelheim.

Well, being a prequel the ending is kind of obvious if you played FF7. The ending basically plays itself out up till the point where FF7 begins.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

I just started playin Crisis Core and I gotta say I'm extremely disappointed.

I've played cell phone games that require more strategy.

XXXXXXXXRXLXXXXXXXXXXXRXLXXXXXXXXXXXXXRXLXXXXXXXXX XXX = won the fight

I really hope it gets more intuitive, more difficult at the least.

Edit: Also 'Activating Combat Mode' and 'Conflict Resolved' both annoy the fuck out of me, what ever happened to just hitting something.

As opposed to the tape over the confirm key for the first 10 games, or the afk experience of 12?

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

You really can't compare this game to other FFs, it's not even an RPG, it's devil may cry sans the need for reflexes.

I shouldn't be able to kill 4 enemies and take no damage just by mashing X over and over.

And irrelevant to actual gameplay: the level up system seems really stupid and pointless.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

It is stupid and pointless, most of the buffing in the game comes from how well you set up your materia and accessories.

And if you want more challenge, play it on hard, I promise you won't whine about it being too easy then. -_-

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

lol that's what I was going to suggest... why didn't you pick Hard mode in the first place? And trust me, the final couple of bosses are anything but easy, even on the normal difficulty (unless you played every single mission and leveled to like 50+... but then you can only blame yourself.)

Naturally the start of the game is easier, it gets tougher later on (and so do the missions, even though you should still survive all of them if you know how to dodge/block..)

It wasn't meant to be too hard of a game, it's just a handheld title... you're trying to grade it based on it being a Final Fantasy title, and it's not the way to go. Just enjoy it for what it is!

And what you said about tapping X could be said about every single FF game ever created, so...

Fun game, great FMVs, and the mission system was very addicting. Compared to the last few sequels(/prequels), this is by far the best to date.

lol I thought the battle system was painfully simplistic at first, but, uh, yeah... The challenge meter skyrockets out of nowhere once you get 40% or so through missions. Some are so hard it's annoying; one wrong or mistimed dodge = mission failure.

    Anyone know if that song played in that new NA commerical is in the game anywhere? The one with the heavy guitar riffs? I dont think it's in the OST sadly.. Kinda sounds like the battle song, but it's not D;

I think it may be the "Last Order Crisis Mix" but I cant find the commercial on youtube to check ><

This game doesn't give you any breaks... man, you really have to work your ass off for cool items. At 45% completion for missions and at Nibelhiem in the main story, but I've been rocking the same shit forever lol. I think if I get one more Drainra materia I'm going to scream.

I beat the game, and now on New game+ im fighting Minerva.... and shes a total bitch. She hits me for 99,999 damage, but luckily you can steal 99 Phoenix downs so I reraise everytime and keep swinging at her. But then she does Judgement shot which negates RR and insta-kills me so

Why do I let this game get to me even though I know how it sort of ends. =[ Gah. Awesome game, loved the soundtrack too.

Lol same, I was like fuck that was a good ending, even though I knew it was coming.

Admittedly in it's simplicity and somewhat repetition of the game was overall very good. I enjoyed it, it was fun, and finally SE brings out a FF that I enjoyed outside of 11, and even then I don't like 11 that much XD.

My only quirk is the lack of adventuring around, but meh, it's only a minor detail.

What happens to Cissnei? >.< And they never REALLLLLLY explain where Genesis disappears to until he shows up at the end of DoC.

From what I recall, I believe he turns into one of the sephy clones, admittedly I never got around to playing to DoC so I can't comment on the whole DoC thing.

But from the whole "I hear he'll be one of our brothers, you think he will be willing?" got me to assume he doesn't show up till as one of the clones that fights cloud in AC due to the VAs in accompaniment with the ending scene of genesis.

But that's just my assumption lol.

Genesis at the end of DoC (it was a secret ending, but he's obviously alive.) IIRC DoC is 3 years after FF7, 1 year after AC.

    Some DoC spoilers.. :

Also, Genesis is Weiss's brother in a sense, since Nero posesses his body (all DoC stuff heh, Nero and Weiss are brothers/leaders of Deepground)... gogo FF7-2 with Genesis as the bad dude heh (or at least DoC2... there's no point to make that video if they're not going to do anything about it.) It's sort of hard to say why Genesis isn't dead, but I assume Minerva (the world's goddess or whatever, she's an optional fight in CC) stopped his degradation.
