Kinepickwa NM / Poison Taster's Cape

1st off getting the trigger: Confirmed drop from Meteor(RDM)/Chadoyant(WHM) Quadav's, VT to 75 in Beadeax(S). A Quadav Charm from present day Beadeax is needed to get thru the gate to 2nd part of map, where there is plenty of these 2 Quadav's. Drop is really low, personally I went 1/50 solo'ing them on BLM for my 1st trigger.

As for Kinepickwa: Trade Peist Pellets to ??? at G-10 Pashhow(S). Only info ive seen so far on this NM is "uses Perfect Dodge" and "poisons itself to give it high regen". So I had just done Bloodlapper with RDM RDM THF NIN, and decided to go pop this, didnt turn out so well. It spams a move Aqua Fortis, pretty hard aoe dmg and knockback + very strong poison. Was no way that setup was gonna win, so chainspell teleport out went down.

Dont care so much for the lost trigger as ill just solo another and get exp while doing it, but we obviously need more info before popping this again.. Anyone can add info to this? Really need to know how to stop Aqua Fortis, or this NM will seriously need to be treated like a HNM, with like say PLD RDM WHM SMNorBLMs.

Only way to stop Aqua Fortis is to stay out of range it seems.
I beat this nm with just BLM and RDM. Stay at max range and just sleep nuke, if you time your sleeps right it will never be able to cast poison on itself, so the crazy regen is not a problem, makes the fight really easy. 8)

Rare chance but noticed the question asked on another topic never saw a answer to it.. anyone have the cape and tested if "Sublimation" makes the refresh work ? i doubt it but if it does that would be really nice way to make the cape work ^^;

Here's a question tho... Has anyone on any server reported seeing the Poison Tasters Cape at all? Reason I ask is, If you do /translate "Poison Tasters Cape" or any combo of said item... It doesn't translate. You can /translate any item in the game. But no go yet for the cape that I've seen. Like you can /translate "Valhalla Helm" and see it... But I don't think anyones claimed beating Odin and getting the helm to drop.

And... no ones reported any luck getting Kinepickwa to drop anything that I've seen. Though I'm willing to be proven wrong.

Touche! Now just find me a pic of Poison Tasters Cape.... >,> My social shell is less inclined to farm Peiste Pellets for hours on end without knowing 100% for sure that the cape is in the game.

It probably doesn't translate as in the auto trans it doesn't appear as it's full name since it's too long. You probably need the abbreviation which you don't know cause no-one has seen it. As long as the item is something minor say as 1-5 HP per tick for 1 MP the drop rate is proper. However if we find out it's 30-50 HP a tick for the 1 MP this NM will never be farmed again.

Ah, I think i'd tried that too but I musta been alil off. Hopefully just nice normal poison will trigger the fresh effect. Then just pop on Regen and and get 1 fresh tic~

Now the hard part. Convincing my social shell that it's in thier best interest to bow down to my whims and farm peiste pellets for days on end! Mwahahaha... ; ;

I killed it with 3 blm pld(me) rdm and thf(th4). We started with sleep and nuke.Blm are good on it(10-15% at nuke).At 50% we used all 2h for kill it fast but no drop ;_; (super th4!)

To get to the pop item mobs, does each person need a quadav charm? Is the gate a cs or a door like SSG?

One charm is enough, the gate stays open maybe 10 seconds, and opens from the back without a charm.

One pop item, one kill. Was kinda glitched though. All he did was spam Bio2 on every one of us, was 5 of us, NIN, WAR, RDM, WHM.

Works nicely as whm or /whm with poison pots. I haven't exp/merited since I got it. However, I'm thinking that casting Poison on Colibri, then getting it casted back on you, would be a sweet way of using this.

Two things
1) does the refresh effect still work if you have stoneskin up? (i'm assuming yes)
2) is it a 1/tick refresh? (also assuming yes)

<3 the Colibri idea, I would usually use Dia to make them die faster and make me immune to their sleep.

Got mine too but I was unlucky. 1/4 on the cape. The pop item has an abysmall droprate with TH3/4 plus I had to solo those for 2 of the pops. BLM solo them fine. RDM/THF too but it takes forever. As for the cape, it's 1/tick refresh. The refresh stays the same wether you use poison pots or poisonII from a mob ( like the poison II a colibri could reflect).

The poison stays the same ; so 1 HP/tick with poison pots. I timed it and poison pots last 3:00. So it puts you at 36 minutes with a stack and 720 mps recovered (-720 hps too :D but who cares that's ~2 stoneskin). I can see myself using it in salvage, at least on boss fights (~10 minutes so 3-4 pots only), and einherjar (10 pots ).

and yes stoneskin doesn't prevent refresh. No clue about the new SCH ability as I am SCH10 only.

Sadly the only Enchantment: Poison item (afaik) is Anubis's Knife... and the only job that can equip both that and the cape is PUP.
