Nah, more like a "Legend of Amy:Super Sonic World." Only the world map is one huge explorable forest/ocean/mountain/dessert zone. Each section could have one hidden 3-D dungeon that you'd have to locate/explore, and within each dungeon are portals to smaller 2-D levels. Complete 5-6 sidescrolling levels in each dungeon, followed by a cool boss. I think it could work.Originally Posted by Maxxthepenguin

Dude, that sounds pretty much just like a Zelda game except with sidescrolling levels in the dungeons. Seriously.Originally Posted by Deejay
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were tops lol, none of these new games were as good as those. I still remember raising chao on the Visual Memory Cards.Originally Posted by Metah
We'll see when it comes out, I'm still optimistic at Sega making a good 3D sonic game after Adventure 2 (secret rings was on the right path, but if I know Sega that was just pure chance <_<)
I'm a big sonic fan and wait patiently for a good one, but w/e, when it comes it comes but until then I'll continue to wait and see. Personally, I rather let another development team than Sonic Team, cause seriously, ST has good ideas but shitty game development which are usually plagued by lazyness, lack of hardware optimization and riddled with numerous small problems that make it a subpar game overall.
By taking on negative energy he's suppose to go dark sonic btw <_<;
God dam Sega, make it consistent gawd >=(
am I the only one who has never played a Sonic gaem since the 16 bit era?
Probably, you an't missing much though there's like 3 good Sonic games after the genesis years lol.Originally Posted by Meteora
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were decent I heard, thats about it lol.
Just because a game has dungeons doesn't mean it's a carbon copy of Zelda. Besides, the dungeon formula in Zelda always has a gimicky puzzle followed by discovering a gimicky weapon which you use to beat a gimicky boss.Originally Posted by Maxxthepenguin
My formula goes: explore -> find dungeon -> beat 5 levels -> fight boss
I'd say if you wanted to make it more old school you would do 2-3 levels with a boss at the end of the last one. 5 levels without a boss or significant encounter sounds like too much.
Or you could split up the 5 levels in each dungeon into 2 or 3 followed by mini-boss that's guarding the entrance to the lair of the real hard 2 stages and then the real boss who holds a Chaos Emerald.
I don't know, i'm just rambling. But having seperate 2-D and 3-D worlds to play in with Sonic would be cool.
Sonic CD and Knuckles Khaotix (sp?) were pretty good games that not many have played, due to their release on retarded console addons. They are worth a run through on an emulator thou if you were a fan of the genesis ones imo.
The Knuckles game was pretty fun if you could do 2 player, otherwise it's a pretty solid game. And doesn't Sonic CD have Sonic Boom on it? Fuck yeah.
Castlevania/Metroid-esque sonic, IMO.

if you haven't played Sonic CD, you're missing out on one of the best Sonic games(IMHO) conceived. I put it as my second fav after S2 and then S1. Hell the soundtrack alone is amazing, I'd download it just to listen to it on its own lol
New game has big potential, maybe they've got the message now that fans are tired of watered-down, awkward, rushed 3-D bewlshit.
Or, you know, download the PC version.Originally Posted by fantasticdan
That actually doesn't look too bad. I'd say quality pending on the final level design. Reminds me of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpUuEUrcidAOriginally Posted by Kais
