Spell List wiped

Has anyone ever had something like this happen before? >.>

I changed to BLU to go farm, and noticed for some reason my spell list was out of order. opened up the sort menu with + button, hit autosort and the list changed to "no spells learnt"...

Spoke to some GMs, did File Check for POL and FFXI, tried, re-logging, etc etc, nothing. Finally after an hour the GM just says "i told the Dev. Team and it will be a few days before you hear an answer" and leaves.

And it wont let me re-learn them lol

well, it says i "have no spells" so i cant set any.

but my BF jsut logged me in, and on his it says i have all spells. he set some for me, and trying now, i can use them using /ma but it still says i dont have them lol

If this happened to me I'd probably cry D=. Over 100+ spells.

since i have spells when my BF logged me on i thought it was my side. so i completely uninstalled and re-installed the game overnight.

Logged on today, still no spells

And an email saying that apparently the Dev. Team are still trying to figure out what happened lol

my best guess is that the profile's sorting table ended up corrupted somehow when you sorted which caused your game client to give up and claim you had no spells. try appending .old to the name of the profile directory for that char to (you should be able to identify it based on the char's id, i forget how you look it up though) and let it rebuild it. your macros will be gone, but that should give you your spells back. after that, if you copy your macro table files from the .old directory to the new, it will restore your macros too. i don't know for sure if this will work as i've never seen this problem before, but based on my speculations, it's my best suggestion.
