Pikachu is really not that overpowered in levels that aren't FD. Having the entirety of the vertical range covered by thunder without a platform to block it is absolutely nuts though.
Thank god for crazy diminishing returns.
How good is that move now? It was awful and unpracticable in melee.Originally Posted by Arvin

If it's as slow and as hard as it was to absorb something, then yeah.
toon links down smash is OP at the best times.
Awesome for spiking an enemy off-stage, but if you miss... <___<Originally Posted by KuaiEQ
Also, IC isn't really OP, but players that know how to utilize their grabs with smash-As = annoying as hell.
Down smash, not down air, the move that can kill someone who DI's the wrong way at 5%
It's less "counter"ish timing, now, and absorbs as long as the bucket's out. Has ridiculous priority, once full.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Pretty annoying against certain characters, to say the least.
Honestly I also don't think Pikachu's thunder is that OP. I use Pikachu the most, and there are alot of stages where it's difficult to get it just right, as well as if you are smart it's easy to not be hit by, leaving Pikachu open for a long enough time to get owned.
So I'm assuming EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU have Olimar as one of your mains, and not just me then? >.>
I don't know why Wolf has such high priorty on 90% of Olimar's moves, but it does tick me off in several ways. I'm trying to figure out an alt to work with just for Wolf, which irritates me, although my ICs usually don't have too bad of a time with him. I *can* beat Wolf as Olimar, but against a really good one it's verrrrry hard and I don't know why it should be. Who is Wolf's Kryptonite if Wolf is Olimar's I wonder... I'll make it my duty to find out.

Pit or falco I guess. Pikachu and zelda arent too bad either I would think.
Ohh, yeah that. I saw a video on it before the NA release, and I've done it a few times, but with online lag and the perfect condition needed to pull it off, I usually never do it right nor do I try anymore. It's just as retarded as somebody holding you in a fan for 100% or a player forcing a K.O with a Ray Gun.Originally Posted by Ryko
I have a fairly easy time playing keepaway with Wolf on TL. It can be a little sketchy if he's using his Down B to play mind games on my bomb/boomerang/arrows, but outside that it's a pretty fair fight.Originally Posted by Ryko
I'd definitely say Sheik/Falco/Fox give me a lot of trouble...maybe sonic too (friend is crazy good with him), I guess it's just the fast characters I seem to have trouble with now that I think about it. Wolf has some easily punishable moves, most of my friends play quite defensively when I go Wolf and end up doing a lot better than if they hadn't been so defensive
I definitely agree that Wolf is over powered. He's easily the game's best character I feel.
But outside of the ridiculous forward smash and AAA combo, he's punishable on certain moves.
But as for Pikachu, Thunder isn't that bad. The fact that you can air dodge a ton now instead of just once makes dodging thunder in the air quite easy. As for punishing with some characters, I still can't do that (but that's probably just lag online.) All 3 of my main characters though don't seem to have much problem punishing Thunder. Zero Suit Samus' Forward B pretty much stops Pikachu cold. They thunder, you dodge, use the forward B and sweet spot it for a kill. Same thing applies to Marth's Forward Smash or Snake's Forward B or B moves.
Just use range to beat an FD n00b Thunder Spamming Pikachu. If your character doesn't have range like ...say... Ganondorf. Uhh... let me know if you figure something out.
