Name your 2D-AV with a really common name to throw people off

Like Rick, or Dave, or Tony

and the only way to kill it is to melee with a weapon that you have level 0 skill in.

One of them does have a really annoying trick to it, but its only one of the 10(?) monsters that will be AV quality. I've also thought about putting all 10 into one BCNM and seeing if the whole server can take it down We'll see.

I'm sooooooooo going to play your game.

What will you ask for, a monthly fee or donations to maintain the game servers? I'd pay. Sounds like fun. Even 5 bucks an account would quickly add up for you.

If you need any help coding/design-wise/debug/testing, etc and need flunkies, I may have just the thing.

My university is starting up a game development club/team here soon. The guy that started it, and my own goal as well is to have multiple completed projects to show on a resume and potential employers to get an edge up on all the other college grads.

So, to put it short, we're gonna need projects to work on :D

I can ask around, see how many people are good with sprites. We had our first informal meeting yesterday, and it went fairly well.


Other than that, if you are open at all to people willing to help code the game, or offer opinions/advice on code or gameplay in general, anything you can think of... Let me know

As for me, I'm horrible with sprites, and a graphic designer would definitely be better for creating the GUI to start. My own specialty atm in work is user-interaction intuitiveness.

Will absolutely need help with npc scripting. I don't know when but I'm sure I will, so hold out for the future.

You probably thought of this, but did you consider inside jokes in the game for BG stuff? I'm thinking of the card game, all the stuff really only forum readers would get. NPCs saying "I see what you did there" or "Don't take it for granite" would make alot of people laugh.

No man its free not going to ask for donations but a server would be great rofl. I'm not worried about the money. I am doing this for fun. Plus since I am stealing the tile sprites I think if I charged for it I could get in some legal trouble Since its a small game right now I could very well just run this off my computer. I have a decent PC so I don't think I would notice much of a change. But hey we'll see, lol.

You have the support of the BG forums I'm sure. Everyone will wanna see this happen. Run with it, it's legendary in it's idea alone.

I'd love to compose some midi's (final fantasy inspired style of composure) and I'll email em to you if you'd like. Tell me the file format the music needs to be in to work and I'll work with it. If you want me to anyway. Just tell me what areas you have, or pics of em, and I'll use it to inspire the mood of the music.

Considering this project is call Penn Online and I've named every character I've ever made in an MMO Pendas, I'm dedicated to playing this game when its released . It sounds really good and well thought out, and I appreciate all the hard work you're putting into it. I don't post much on the forums (I only do so when I have something absolutely productive to the topic) but read them everyday to give myself as much information as I possibly can about FFXI and the BGcommunity.

If you want I can help out with NPC Scripting, text editing and anything storyline related. I'm a college student majoring in Scriptwriting for Television and have worked on many scripts and short stories. I was also head copy editor for my college literary magazine. Besides the picture I already posted (Which I lost that map, due to changing the map size ) I have literately done 0 mapping.

And no I don't need any GMs right now but thank you for the enthusiasm if I need any I will go to you two first.

What is the game being programmed with and in what language? And, if the engine wasn't completely built from scratch, where is it from?

Might want to be careful with the art btw, if you use RPG Maker map tiles in the final version and it gets really popular, you might get nasty emails from Enterbrain
