fuck, runescape did that i'm pretty sureOriginally Posted by Deejay

but without the bgwiki text ;o
Sounds like it'll be fun, can't wait to try it out.
Miz: Let's make the first HNMLS in the game then run off and split the bank after it gets built up. :bagel:
If this game has any form of Geomancer...![]()
I know I haven't posted here, and no one really knows me. But I would like to be included in the beta if possible. I have some experience with testing and with music production as well, but no programming or graphics experience. Let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks
Don't forget, you promised to name a badass endgame sword after me.
And I can do beta testing and what not. Lots of free time and an eye for detail.
Needs a monster named Rocl that instantly bans you when you get close to it
I'd love to see your source posted up on SourceForge; that'd probably be the easiest way to get linux server ports and mac clients, since I kind of want to mess with doing both of those.
Senoska, BG might be able to help you server wise. Contact Sonomaa or myself so we can discuss how much power you think you would need. It'd be a seperate server from our forums so that everytime there's an FFXI patch you wouldn't lag with our forums and people could actually play. =x
As far as graphics go, I am not a pixel person but if there's something else you need I guess let me know.
That would be amazing. As far as the source thing goes, I don't know that I want to make this open source but I'm not sure yet.Originally Posted by Nikkei

No, you can't play this on a mac, and I support the idea of you going to edit your videos and be uncool.
It's a shame Wafiks Diorite never dropped![]()
Everything seems to be working and im just doing minor tweeks right now, If people want to do mapping please let me know now. I need someone who has a lot of time with something like this and that I can trust wont fuck up our server, that being said you need to be well known on the boards here to get this job >_>b
Also, you need to not be mad or discouraged by frustrating things. Im going to be a nazi as far as maps go, they really need to flow with the game and if you make a map that looks like this:
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/2219/shitmapzr9.jpg
its simply going to disappear from the server as I deleted it because this is ass. Quality over quantity. So let me know if someone wants to take this, you will be given the client a week or two before beta (so a few days from now?) and allowed to do your work.
Just making maps with the engine? I did alot of that shit for the MMO my clan tried to get going for just clan members awhile back. I swear it looks like the same engine but the way you talk about it it might not be. At any rate, I'd be down for making some maps but I think the more people making maps the better. Putting maps altogether is easy if you have a bunch of varying zones it'd be easy to make intermediary zones.
Maybe 4 guys making maps, a 5th making intermediary maps to link them altogether. Of course, there'd need to be communication so what you ended up with wasn't utterly disconnecting and ass. In the end I think you'd end up with a nice variety and a good bit of maps to start out with. There'd me more maps biweekly or whatever you mentioned being the time between patches/updates/additions to the game so you wouldn't need everything right away either so you'd get an idea what the players like the most and be able to improve upon that style.
it probably is the same engine, its called Konfuze. Its well known engine. I've changed some things, but the map editor is basically the same. If you want, you can be counted on one of the mappers. Soon as the GUI is done I'll be sending out the client to the mappers, pretty much at that point the majority of things will be finished.Originally Posted by Maguspk
It depends on how this map making process is done
Creatively setup tiles to model enviroments that would be good for fighting monsters in/exploring like a map for a MMO should be. Adding in triggers for events, like changing screens/warping/climbing ladders/stairs, etc. It's really simple once you're familiar with it iirc, been awhile. It's fun.Originally Posted by Metah
This sounds awesome, where'd the name come from (if anywhere)?
This is going to be so win![]()
The trick is making things look natural while still forcing the players down a path.Originally Posted by Maguspk
Take Jugner or Zi'Tah, for example. They're forests, but have distinct paths. You can't just wander aimlessly around trees scattered here and there. Meriphitaud is about as open as it gets, and it's not even as open as it looks with all those ledges and crap.
