Paladin AF+1 Question

I was curious as to which would be better to upgrade first, body or feet. Both seem like good pieces, but is one really better than the other?

Body +1:
DEF: 55 HP +20 VIT +6
Divine Magic Skill +8
Enmity +2

Feet +1:
DEF: 19 HP +20 CHR +5
Shield skill +12
Enhances "Holy Circle" effect

I'm sure there is someone who will have to think hard about not berating you, but I won't. This is probably Random Question Thread worthy.

I personally went leggings +1 first, because they are ridiculously useful for any situation where you have a shield and want to block attacks (This happens a lot as a Paladin) such as when Utsusemi is down, or you are using another subjob that is not Ninja. Also, the only reason I am getting the surcoat +1 is for storage reasons (AKA no Valor Surcoat) because the +1 does not enhance the stats I wear the surcoat for. I want to see Gallant Surcoat +1 with +22 or more HP and +3 enmity. THAT would be a useful +1 upgrade and a good intermediary between Gallant and Valor.

I don't see a reason to upgrade since it costs you 30 ABC to do so. Unless you are doing it so you can +1 body and feet.. then redo the rest and store.

Even this is marginally better. Personally, if I were to upgrade, it'd be the feet. Then just forget about the body. I don't really want to spend 30 ABC (the equivalent of around 240k on my server) just for a couple vit and def.

and upgrading body... well... if you have the slightest chance to get valor surcoat, forget about it, unless you really have too much money you want to waste on the additional runs for materials and coins.

Difference is 2 shield skill.

Keep in mind you'll never use the body as soon as you get anything better. Valor or Ares something like that. However you'll continue to keep the feet on you and use it as a macro piece (or full time if you lack other items).

So like the others said, feet first. It has value, body not so much.

Valor body did drop last Xarc run, but I was out lotted =/. I was leaning towards upgrading feet, though I was told by a friend valor feet were better due to the enmity on them (I know better) and to go for body.

It all boils down to luck, really. We've seen 1 valor surcoat and zero deimos bodies in the past two years in our LS; The question is: do you feel lucky, punk?

i switched to Sandy, from Windy, didnt lose my Holyknight $$$$ emblem, or any alllied notes. and i was able to get both Iron Ram pieces.

Well nothing to add really, other than reiterating that Feet are the only piece I'd say to upgrade.
I upgraded body, but only because I had the pieces and lack Valor/Ares's, there's no gain from it other than looking slightly cooler than Adaman PLDs and much less cool than Valor/Ares's.

No offense, but your friend is clueless. There's no difference between a Full Time Adaman feet PLD and a Full time Valor Feet PLD for everything not /NIN. And even then, it depends on your setup and gear available.

Go for Feet. I also upgraded Body, but it was just to have a white box, there's no real usefulness to do this. Hell, Breeches +1 are more useful if you solo a lot....
