I have both; body is a waste of coins but can save you money/time in the long run if your contantly pulling the set out of storage every other day. As soon as I got body I stopped getting asked to come on PLD to events*; so

If your even CONSIDERING both, do feet first. Why? That way you don't have to repeat the AF quest line 2 times.

*I get to go WHM or MNK alot now, we got other tanks & me going whm allows other WHM's to go BLM or RDM to events.

I was leaning towards upgrading feet, though I was told by a friend valor feet were better due to the enmity on them (I know better) and to go for body.

No offense, but your friend is clueless. There's no difference between a Full Time Adaman feet PLD and a Full time Valor Feet PLD for everything not /NIN. And even then, it depends on your setup and gear available.

Go for Feet. I also upgraded Body, but it was just to have a white box, there's no real usefulness to do this. Hell, Breeches +1 are more useful if you solo a lot....

indeed. Feet then Legs. No need to do body at all.
Legs add the enhancing skill to boost your phalanx up by 1. add in augmenting earring and enhancing torque, and you can't get higher on PLD I believe. (not counting merits)

Stop with the confusing of people. First time signing up to a nation you lose nothing. When you swap back to a nation you were previously allegianced with you lose your top two medals (and 300AN).

Example: If you started as a Bastokan and now want to swap to Sandy for the I.R. Sallet it won't cost you anything and you won't lose any medals. The NPCs in Sandy will just ask you to do the first Sandy quest, Steamed Rams, and that's it. However if you want to swap back to Bastok after picking up your shnies you will lose your top two medals and it'll cost you 300AN.

"If you wish to change your allegiance, you must complete the first quest in the WotG missions for that specific country. If you change allegiance, you lose 500 allied notes, but keep your highest ranking medal."

It's from wiki, so I'm not sure how correct this is. Again, sorry for not stating my source ^^;.

I came into this ls as a 73 paladin, they've had me tank everything even though I have no experience tanking sky gods (they tap danced on me when Byakko raped me ;_; ) and sea. I guess I've done a decent job so far, I've not had to change to samurai yet >.>;.
