Moving to australia is like wanting to be amputated. If you enjoy a luxurious american lifestyle, don't move, everything here is expensive especially imports (due to the fact we're away from the rest of the world), we have a very high cost of living no matter where you go, we get all technology (not just games) many many many months after USA.

On the plus side, our minimum wage is quite nice, and snow doesn't exist in 95% of the country. If you're craving an australian life badly, don't plunge into it, trial it first.

The catch is

a) You'll be stuck in Australia, lollers.
b) I'm not too sure if americans can participate in working holiday visas, I know they weren't allowed to before, but the APEC meeting discussed this very issue between AU<>US if I remember right.
c)The jobs you can take on these working holiday visas are limited, you can't go and become a freelance graphic artist or a surgeon for example, you can however do things like Data entry, cash registers, pizza delivery, things like that.

This thread was linked in the other thread. When you click on the link it could open up in a new window or tab then while you are reading the old thread you forget and post in it instead of the other window where the new thread is....

At least that almost happened to me before.
